The Dolphins have to address at least two, maybe three or four, starting spots on the offensive line. How the Dolphins choose to do it is up to them, but at some point, they have to start thinking about the long-term future of the line, so it will serve them well to invest some draft resources in the line.

Retaining Clabo is an easy first step; As mentioned earlier, he was playing his best football down the stretch. Ideally, the Dolphins find a way to get him back on a one- or two-year deal.

For too long, the Dolphins have been using man-blocking linemen to execute a zone-blocking scheme. It's time to start building the Dolphins offensive line in the right direction for the long term. Free agency is a good first step, but the best way to do it is to draft well.

Good job by the BR crew.

any plan involving resigning Clabo is a bad one. Clabo was bad so , bad that we benched him. So he played better than awful down the stretch , he set the bar pretty low

Quite a bit of speculation, seemingly just picking players at random

I'd like to see us add two tackles in FA: Anthony Collins and anyone not named Brandon Albert (too much $$) then draft Zack Martin rd 1

LT Anthony Collins
LG Zack Martin
C Pouncey
RG Brenner
RT FA pickup

are we really resigning Clabo? He started the year like crap, we can't afford to have that happen again. Let Hickey pick his own FA RT and draft his replacement later in the draft.

Initially, we will need a balance of FA's and draft picks to fill our gaps. I would also agree that finding players that fit the ZBS is critical, as we keep talking about it but also keeping throwing in guys that don't fit it....time to finally fix that.

Clabo doesn't scare me too much if he is brought back for depth. He was much better in the 2nd half of the year than he was in the first half.

Anything involving starting a 3rd of the line we had last year is a complete fail....

I'd be much happier with:

LT Rodger Saffold - Henderson
LG Zach Martin - Garner
C Mike Pouncey - Garner/Brenner/free agent/draft pick
RG Jon Asamoah - Brenner
RT Morgan Moses - Thomas

Saffold way too injury prone and a better OG IMO.

I would like - Anthony Collins - Dallas Thomas - Mike Pouncey - Jon Asamoah - Zach Martin

You can get a quality Offensive lineman in second to third round. You need to sure up the left tackle spot. Anthony Collins, Albert, or Monroe make that happen. They need to be the main priority in free agency. I really like roger saffold and maybe Michael oher as a back up plan. Both young and can play either tackle position. We don't need tyson or Bryant. They aren't good enough.

LT- McKinnie (draft a LT or Albert as options)
LG - Brenner/Garner (draft a guard, Ola could be a possibility)
C - Sign Alex Mack away from Cleveland - priority
LG - Pouncey (also can be back up center)
RT - Sign a free agent RT (clabo as back up, and draft a RT)

Signing Alex Mack would be huge. He is superior to Pouncey at C, and Pouncey is better suited to play guard anyways. Having Pouncey at RG would be a stabilizing presence if we draft a rookie to play RT.
Find someone better than Clabo to play RT. Not much upgrades available, but I would go FA first. Draft a RT in the middle rounds and hope for a player.
Draft a LT at the top of the draft. This is a huge hole that must be filled immediately if Albert is not an option. McKinnie can give us 2 years until the rookie is up to speed.
LG can be filled by Brenner, but I have concerns about his toughness. Garner can fill in if Brenner struggles against some players.
This cannot be fixed in one season, it will take 2-3 years.

I just don't see the Bengals letting Collins go.

Saffold has been injured in his career, but he will also be dirt cheap and can play both tackle and guard.

Breno Giacomini is another guy that we'll most likely go after.

mcKinnie at left tackle leaves our most important line position as a huge weak spot, we are asking to never be able to run on left side and not really a good pass protector. I like the Mack idea.
I would rather let Mckinnie walk he can only play left side and he doesn't play well emough to start.

I don't like McKinnie much either, but he would be serviceable until the draft pick is up to speed. We need a young LT. My preference would be to take a LT in the first round, but with our draft position, we would be likely taking the 3rd -5th best player at that position. Not much value and it reeks of desperation. I would rather take BPA with our first pick.
If we only have enough cap to sign 1 premium FA, I would sign Mack over Albert and take my chances with a mid round LT and McKinnie.
Signing a mediocre LT to premium salary is a bad idea. Not much out there in FA.
The interior of the oline should be our priority and work out from there.
Just my .02.
I hope Hickey will make excellent picks. Every year great players slip to the middle and bottom of the draft. He need to get lucky and hope that Hickey is good.

I just think u can get a player of Mckinnie talent at LT at almost any price level and at least that guy may have upside and the ability to play both sides.

I prefer the following:

LT- Either Eugene Monroe or Branden Albert
LG - David Yankey (First Round Stanford)
C - Mike Pouncey
RG - Jerry Asamoah (Free Agent Chiefs)
RT - Antonio Richardson ( Tennessee) or Jack Mewhort (Ohio State) in round 2 or Billy Turner (North Dakota State) in round 3

We should be able to afford those two free agents and still have back up vets should the rookies not be ready to start right away.
