long read, they do not have a lot of good things to say about Gholston...

The talk: “He’s a dog. He’s embarrassing, he embarrasses himself and his coach,†said one long-time scout. “But about three times a game, he goes like no one’s gone in about five years. He’s got supernatural stuff, he really does. I don’t see anybody in the last five years that has what he has. I’d have to really think back to (Dwight) Freeney or (Julius) Peppers to have the stuff he has. But he’s absolutely a dog, and anybody that tells you different should be fired immediately from their job. If we were up there, I’d be scared to death and, at the same time, I’d feel my adrenalin rushing thinking maybe we could turn him on. I confronted him. I said, ‘You’re about the laziest SOB I’ve ever seen.’ He didn’t know how to explain it. He couldn’t come back on it. He didn’t get mad. I don’t know. He was taken by surprise, I guess.

Here's what they say about his one sack on Jake Long...

That one sack against Jake Long almost has taken on a life of its own.

"It's the only thing some guys want to talk about," another NFC scout said. "If he didn't have that sack things would be a lot different for him right now. And he beat up a bad tackle against Wisconsin. He didn't dominate and he gets overwhelmed with size."

So in short, a lot of scouts think Gholston is a great prospect, but they also think he doesn't really care all that much about football.

Other notable stuff include one highly ranked team saying they're scared to death of McFadden because of a disasterous interview they had. A lot of mixed stuff on every prospect, but Gholston seems to get the worst of it.

As for our boy Jake Long, same thing. Most see him as a guy who will be a multi time pro bowler and an anchor for 10-12 years. Others see him as Willie Anderson at best. Really the closest to no bad reviews is Chris Long

jake long will be a beast...gholston is a stud too but has more question marks

Yeah pretty much everything I read brings up the question of motor in Gholston as they did Mario Williams, and Jake maybe ending up at RT but very few scouts and coaches have any cons to say about Chris.

you also have to take into account some of this could be disinformation as well especially this close to the draft. i dont trust most anything out of teams mouths to be honest. i make a note of it but thats about it.

Enlightening post, thanks ChambersWI.

I have to believe if BP thought Gholston had the fire inside that Lawrence Taylor had, he'd be a Fin right now. But BP knows how much a high-motor guy is worth, and he doesn't seem to want you if you only go all out from time to time. I think this high-motor trait will be the deciding factor in determining who the rest of our picks will be this weekend.

great link! IF you just go to the website you can find the correct link. Thanks for this, it was an awesome read!:)

As a follower of the big ten i wonder why gholston absolutely stunk it up against teams like kent st...

The Next Bosworth

Gholston will be the next Bosworth when he can't take his roids and loses size and speed he will be gone. Not woth a top 15 pick, maybe late first round...

The question mark for Chris Long to us was the ability to play OLB in the 3-4 . . . and I know that he CAN . . . but anything involving the 3-4 . . . should raise a question on him . . . . as a 4-3 DE . . . I think he may be the safest pick in this draft . . . hard work ethic . . . very athletic . . . I mean he has everything you want in a pick.

Sure Gholston is more freakish . . . but I would be nervous giving him all that guaranteed money . . . anybody taking Gholston over Long is OUT of their mind.
