I was listening to Herm Edwards the other day, who said that with the new CBA it has become much more dillicult to evaluate players than in year's past. The lack of playing in pads and being able to hit players has made it much tuffer on coaches. They can see fundamentals and technique but, not how players play in full contact.

He added that preseason is not a lot of help. You have 2nd and 3rd team players playing most of the snaps, and preseason is absolute vanilla on O and D.

What does everyone here hope to take away from player's play before the season starts?

as a fan all I really want to see is good health. I learned a long time ago never to trust camp/preseason results.

Agreed, you want your player to come out healthy....I'm sure every Cowboy fans is wishing that right now...

From our defense I hope the DB's that are new or young learn where to be and develop their technique. For the rest of the defense I want them to stay healthy.

On offense there are a lot of new players and coaches on top of a new and very complex system. I'm far more interested in how the offense develops. I want to see who is 8n the right place and makes the right reads. I hope the new vets like Albert, Smith and Fox fit in, and how the rookies like James, Turner, Landry and Lynch learn the offense and start to play fundamentally sound football.

I also want to see Tannehill build chemistry with his WR's and start taking command of this new offense and put the OL in the right call.

Most of all I'm interested 8n who is bright enough nd hard working enough to make Lazor's offense work. Because if we have the right personnel, I think this can be a very explosive offense.

Guys like Wallace, Miller and Clay have a lot of guys working hard to give them mismatches. If we do it righr, all 3 will have big years.

Sent from my phone, so please forgive any typos.

I want to see the offense not get their lunch money taken from them in practice, like every year. When the offense starts making some noise, we'll hear about it. I like the bits and pieces that came out of today's OTA's, even though it doesn't mean much. It gave me a glimmer of hope.
