Good morning fellow Phin fans, coming off a rough night last night watching my Canes get handled on the road and looking forward to todays game.

Before I say anything Id like to extend an apology to MikeO who I got into a pretty heated arguement and said some things I shouldnt have to (still waiting on my warning points for that lol)

Okay now here we go.

Obviously whoever loses todays game is going to be 0-2, and that is not something you want, obviously there are still 14 games left to go after this one but here is a quick breakdown on why this game is important to each team

Why This Game Is Important To Miami: After all the offseason hype about finally getting our franchise QB, how Ronnie Brown was going to rush for 1300+ yards, how Chambers was going to have a breakout season....lets face it we laid an egg on Offense Thursday. Granted it was against last years Superbowl Champion Steelers, but we looked stagnant most of the night. Yes we scored 17 points, but most of them were setup by Wes Welker and the return game, and aside from the long drive before the half (and we still couldnt put it in the endzone) we pretty much did very little to nothing all night. A lot of you will say the secondary needs to get better but that wasnt the main problem Thursday, aside from the breakdown in coverage on the 80+ yard TD and a few stupid penalties they played pretty well, the problem was the lack of rush from our Blitz, everyone who has ever played or watched football knows when you dont get pressure on a Blitz there are less men in coverage and the QB will pick you apart, today is a chance to see what one more weeks worth of gelling can do, on both offense and defense

Why this game is important to Buffalo: Aside from being 0-2 they would drop to 0-2 within the divison, which is definitly not a good thing. Last week they had a chance to maybe make a statement but gave the game away (with a little help from the Refs) and looked like they might be better than everyone is giving them credit for. Their offensive line basically needs a miracle, and to give Losman enough time to be comfortable, and open up some running lanes for Mcgahee

Why Miami might win: Our defensive line should overwhelm their offensive line causing Losman to make some mistakes, on defense Buffalo is starting two rookie safetys, which is a speed upgrade but an experience downgrade. Look for Daunte to have a pretty good game and open up the running game for Ronnie.

Why Buffalo might win: This is a rivalry game, and no matter how it looks on paper it will always be close, Im guessing they will come out intense after feeling like they were robbed out of their last game. If their line can block and Losman plays as well as he did last week Evans could have a field day if our Secondary makes any mental errors.

My prediction: Miami: 27
Bufflao: 20

Yes that was a good write up but I have a question for you. Since I wasn't able to watch the Buf/NE game and haven't heard anything about how the refs tried to f*c* it up.....what happened?

Honestly, I'm getting pretty sick of some of the officiating in the NFL sometimes. Last years playoffs were a joke (especially the call against Pit in the Indy game AND the SB), our first game this year wasn't done too well and there are countless others as well. I swear that when I watch college ball the refs seem to be more knowledgeable than the NFL refs (except for that call that went against Oklahoma in the Oregan game yesterday if you happened to see it).

Sorry about the rant...so what happened in the Buffalo game?

Just a few missed calls and bad calls by the refs when Buffalo had a chance to Ice the game and put it away, it was a joint effort, Buffalo still had chances to win even after the bad calls but didnt convert.

i think we win because we are @ home its conditions 0f the players & what conditions they have been training in!!!! remember last years opening game @ home against denver they had the better team but do you know what happens when u put a snow man in a sauna

I saw all of the Bills/Patriots game and even though the refs blew a few calls the Bills lost that game on their own. The Patriots corrected their mistakes at halftime and handled the Bills pretty well in the second half. The Bills couldnt get nothing going on offense in the second half at all.As for todays game the Dolphins have absolutely no excuse if they lose. The loss in Pittsburgh was hard to take but lets face it we were in a tough spot to open the season even though Batch started for the Steelers. If the Dolphins lose today it will be a devastating loss. All of the Dolphin hype we`ve been hearing about for the last 4 months will mean nothing. Losing a home opener to a division opponent spells trouble. We can go from contenders to pretenders in a hurry.
.......On that note I think we have a big day..
DOLPHINS --27.
BILLS-------14

Our season could be over if we lose today. Yes, I know there will still be 14 games to play. But in football, sometimes the season is over early, sometimes the end comes later. If they can't beat Buffalo at home today, they certainly won't beat them up there in Orcahard Park.

They are a couple of threads in the beasts of the east forum that lay it out in some detail.

Nice write up alex. I agree, if we shut down the run game we will win.

good read...I agree..we must get pressure on Losman and slow down McGahee...if we stop Buffalo's run, we'll be victorious

Forget about JP, if we hold Willis to under 80 yards we win going away. JP can not win this game, Willis can. If we can make them HAVE to pass then it will be a blow out.
