What was the main reason we lost?

I thought it was the inability to stop them on third down earlier on, stupid penalties and some rather poor route running by the WR's. It certainly didn't help when they went to run the Flea-flicker they run blitzed and got to Ricky. One of the commentators said Ricky held it to long but I thought he just "ate it" because the play looked to be busted at the line of scrimmage. It's too bad because Ginn was wide open for the score.
Pennington looked really off at the beginning of the game but he looked real solid after. Lowery looked like a steal in the 4th for the Jets.

First and foremost I think Chad Pennington is over hyped. I think he just showed why he is slightly above average at best. Pennington's first 3 series were horrible to say the least.
I think we abandoned the run way too quickly. Ricky didnt do that bad yet they seem to shy away from him in the second half.
I was happy with the defense for the most part considering the loss of Taylor and Thomas.
I was not very upset with the loss because I seen some things I feel we improved on. I believe Pennington is going to be a work in progress himself regardless if most of you think he is our savior. He did not look good at all. The throws he did make were short and safe and should have been completed. I want to see him make plays Farve did in the first quarter and then I will be happy.
Pennington is my main concern at this point with one game into the season he needs help. He was over throwing receivers and RB's all day and I say keep Pennington on a short leash and be prepared to bring in Henne regardless if you think Pennington is the savior of our team even though he isnt.

The busted play that could have resulted in an easy TD was a microcosm of the entire day offensively. No rhythm or rhyme. We go into the red zone twice and turn it over on downs- BRUTAL! That is no chemistry between qb and wr, poor route running, and not enough confidence that the OL will get the oppty to open up holes for R&R and not enough running room to begin with. The Jets had no respect for our WRs and Penny and took away the deep game.
Its not all Penny and his limited arm strength. Case in point when Ginn was suppose to run underneath the coverage instead of went vertical that could of led to an int if (was it not Rivas covering? have to go back and look at the replay) had enough time to react. Or, RB not even lining up properly for the right play and a timeout burned. BRUTAL!
If there is no consistency, no confidence or ability to open up holes to punch it in if the passing game is off once in the red zone, and if there are too many stupid penalties no team will win! At least the D held their own. Favre is Favre and the fluke TD pass is something no once could have prevented. Future HOF'ers will burn you like that. Also, Will Allen and Yeremiah Bell proved once again why they are the best we got in the DB. Allen gambles and will get burned from time to time but I like his aggressiveness and the willingness to challenge the WR.

we didnt play all 4Quarter we only played 1quarter and that was the last one if we can play like we played in the 4Quarter the whole game i think we will be a good team and we need to run it when it is 1 and goal on the 2 yard line
they should of established the running game to wear out their defense. They gave up on it too fast.

Well like what has already been said, the offence put together a good 4th quarter, but other then that they were way too inconsistant.

That had something to do with it too. That surprises me somewhat considering how conservative our OC suppose to be. Unless they felt Penny was confident he could exploit weaknesses in their secondary. Oh well did not work out too well did it not. Of course bad route running by our WRs certainly made it tougher on him.

Not trying to flame the board, but what is the opinion of Dolphin fans on the reason for this?
1. Miami O'line?
2. Jets rushing Defense?

1) The OL (lack of consistant rushing attack, poor pass protection)
2) Critical errors (Not sacking Favre on the miracle play, Ronnie not knowing the play causing us to burn a TO, dumb penalties)
3) We should do better stopping the run
4) The WRs were terrible, but this one is expected
5) Special teams could be much better
6) The officials

I voted no running game, but looking back it was probably just because we couldn't play a complete game. Complete as in we didn't have it together in several areas. I did like the way the defense looked today, at least the front seven. Very strong. Pressured Favre numerous times forcing him to get rid of the ball very quickly.

A lot of reasons but I thought the officials missed a delay of game right after they called that B.S. pass interference call on Goodman against Coles. That gave them most of the yardage on that drive that ended up being the TD that was the difference.
Not calling a Timeout before the 2 minute warning and that lucy lame duck of a pass to stuckey (unreal). I am not unhappy though, we looked much improved on both lines besides a few foolish penalties and wasted timeouts. these things will happen with a young group or a group who is new working together.
We look like were gonna be tough to beat week in and week out!

Practice Squad Punter
No running game to sustain long drives or enable the play action. Jets did a great job upfront. Against Arizona next week I think we will move the ball much better. I see 150+ rushing and a couple TD passes. The Jets defense is good, as it was last year. I can not say the same about Arizona.
