What do you guys feel was the main reason we lost. I keep thinking about the very first drive of the game after we got the fumble turnover. We drove it down to the one and then had to settle for a FG. The game would have been totally different, I believe, had we scored a TD to make it 7-0.

Chad attempted a roll out pass that didn't work, then we tried an up the middle play which was got stuffed, so we had to settle for a 19 yard field goal to make it a 3-0 game. I think it was a 3-3 game about halfway through the 2nd quarter. I think a lot of Chad's INTs and struggles later on happened because Chad tried to do too much, but had we scored an opening TD that coulda/shoulda changed everything. What do you guy's think???

The Turnovers, plain and simple. Most of that goes on Chad, because even though he was under pressure he forced bad throws he normally didn't during the season. I still love Penny though, he got us here.

The Baltimore Ravens are a better team than us.

Chad Pennington's performance, his turnovers, his mistakes led to our demise against the Ravens who are again a better team. They rattled Chad, they made him make mistakes, and thats why they are such a good defense.

Sure if the Dolphins played PERFECT mistake free football against the Ravens defense they probably would have won the game. No turnovers, no penalties, no mistakes like Ted Ginn's end around. But that's a mute point because very few teams play mistake free against the Ravens, thats why they won 11 games and are going to the next round.

The Ginn end around. I think he scores that play and it becomes a different game. Now, im not blaming the fumble on Ginn, it had all to do with the blitz but we are in great shape if we execute that play.

Even though Ginn had the whole field in front of him, that play probably shouldnt have been called for the simple fact that is a play that takes time to develop and the Ravens D wasnt giving us any.

So bad O-Line play is what did it.

O-line was swiss cheese, which led to an ineffective running game and allowed the Ravens to take more chances with blitzes and coverage schemes.

Without a running game and with very little time to throw, Penny was forcing the ball, which led to the turnovers. A QB like Marino might have been able to get away with forcing the ball like that. Penny forcing leads to INTs. The INTs cost us the game. Everyone shares blame in the turnovers (Oline, Penny, WRs), but the breakdown begins up front.

It always starts with the big boys up front. Unfortnately, they were intimidated, confused, and pushed around by a much better unit. End of story.

Several things:

1. Baltimore is better and their defense was the best unit on the field, by far.
2. The right side of our o-line did not show up. I think Vernon cost himself a lot of money on Sunday.
3. Lack of pressure on Flacco (although our defense did a decent job overall).
4. The Ravens ability to take our tight ends completely out of the game.

miscues... we won as many games as we did because we didn't give the other team free pts/field position... they had to earn everything they got...

they had what? 17 pts off of our turnovers... thats the killer...

How about....

Baltimore is a better team....

I would say the Ravens are a much more opportunistic team. Their defense is certainly better, especially their d-backs and LB' s who look to force turnovers. I wouldn't say the Ravens have a better offense. Chad actually passed for about 120 yards more than Flacco, but INT's kill you, along with Cobb's fumble near the sideline when he should have gone out of bounds. :(

Interior offensive line play

They could not get the running game going and then they didn't pass protect very well either.

The fact that they beat us twice this year at home, both without any real threat and turned is into a mistake-prone team looking like the 07 Phins leads me to believe the Ravens are a better team. I think people need to start accepting this.

Well, it's easy to say turnovers. But I always like to look at the cause of turnovers. Most of the turnovers were forced errors. We couldn't run on these guys, thus we're forced to pass. That alone is bad enough, then when you add in the fact that the pass protection doesn't hold up and the receivers can't get open your left with a QB that's gonna have a long day.

Chad made bad decisions because he was trying to create something that wasn't there because the talent on this offense isn't close to the level of the Ravens D.

The main reason we lost is this whole offense isn't equipped to contend with a strong defense, something we've had the luxary of avoiding in the regular season.

I also was surprised that we could not get to Flacco and he had all day to throw the ball. About three weeks ago, I think Porter was in the running for Defensive Player of the Year, but I can't remember any sacks he made in the last 2-3 weeks. I didn't see Roth or anyone else get in Flacco's face either. :rolleyes2:

I thought outside the obvious Turnovers that we never looked Fasano's way. On one of the picks you can see Fasano running a crossing route at 12 to 15 yards down field 2/3 yards open and then the ball is thrown into double coverage for a pick. Our bread and butter is mid level passes and dumping off to the backs and outside that first drive to Cobbs I didn't see alot of it.

I also felt running the ball into the strength of the defense was a mistake, we should have spread them out and made them pay for their blitzing with quick routes and screens. 2 yards a carry put us in 2/3rd and long against a defense that lives off that.

Next I was dissappointed we basically ran the base Wildcat against them, it didn't work last time why would it this time. I thought we'd run more trick plays out of it, I was really hoping with Bess going around the back of Ronnie that Ronnie would go left aswell and option the OLB with Bess.
