I just saw the play on NFL.com

I don't get it, Polite went for a block, the guy tried to jump over Polite, and got himself flipped over. Looked like a standard block to me, why was this called "tripping"? What is the "rule" explanation behind this?

Polite used his leg to trip the defender...

Well it was the reasoning... I never said it actually happened...

Polite used his leg to trip the defender...

Ok, wow, that was an extremely subjective call, seems like Lousaka's legs just followed a natural transition to the ground after throwing his body forward. Wow, what a petty call.

Yup! And the 15 yard penalty on Cam, and the early whistle on the fumble... Aw FML!

It's all to protect the players, the NFL is so concerned about player safety. They will do everything they can to protect the players. Yeah, right.

Who do you believe, the NFL or your lying eyes?

polite trip....it was a trip

It was a trip. No doubt about it. Polite definately raised his left leg in a tripping motion. I have no issues with that call.

However, the call on the incopmplete pass & subsequent recovery was wrong. The NFL should consider a change of the rules so that these plays can be challenged.

Bottom line is, is that Miami probably haven't had too many 50/50 calls this year. The team should put itself in a position to win each game, not rely on 50/50 calls.

That was not a trip.
What Flozell did to Tuck or Osi or whoever it was was a trip. Not that..

It was clearly a leg whip/trip and the right call, if Polite didn't trip him the guy was gonna get to Henne and never would have been able to step into that pass.

The no catch call was disgraceful though.

We spotted the Texans 27 points and that is why we lost the game. I don't blame the loss on the referees. The calls were just part of the NFL protecting the money train and desired storyline, it's not hard to see if you allow yourself to.

Do you honestly think that same call would be made against Houston in that game? You know the truth, it's just whether you want to accept it or not.

i was just thinking, when we were the comback story last year, did we get any of these gifts from the refs?

That was one hell of a pass though!!!! Oh man! Every time I want to give up on Teddy Ginn, The more I say with his ability, he's worth keeping and grooming. Cant ignore that ability! If he gets it right... MAN!!! Only if we had a Bolden....

I have no problem with the call, it was techically correct. The problem that I have is with the overall officiating in general. That call while correct was pretty a pretty ticky tack call.

The refs could quite literally throw the flag on every single play of every single game if for nothing else than holding. Its true that we let them get up by 27 points. However, I saw at least 6-7 rediculous holding flags that were never thrown while they were getting those 27 points. Miami starts making a comeback and throws a critical score and we get a ticky tack flag for tripping and the TD comes back...WTF!

Go back a game and Miami & Tenn are tied up in OT. Miami stops Tenn outside of field goal range and Camerillo gets that ticky tack foul when trying to down the player. Moves Tenn into easy field goal range for the game winning kick...WTF!

Saints vs Dolphins. http://www.democraticunderground.co...mesg&forum=215&topic_id=121658&mesg_id=121658 . No explanation nessasary. The picture is worth a 1000 words...WTF!

3 games that the refs had a heavy bias influence on. I could go on & on but no one really wants to hear me rant. With so much money in sports betting, it really makes me wonder about some of these refs.

I understand that reasoning. But Polite wasn't even facing the guy he "tripped" He was falling down facing the ground. If it was intentional (which it could have been, not long any of us will know), then I'd understand the penalty to "protect the players".

But if it wasn't done on purpose or was incidental, there shouldn't have been a call.
