The Finsiders did a poll on the best plays of 2013. Mine was the Dion Sims catch because I was there and it was an awesome game which made my trip that much more enjoyable. I would say the Michael Thomas interception was really close to being the #1 too, such an emotional game.

Let’s take a look at the nominees for the Dolphins’ Best Play Of 2013:

Dion Sims’ GW One-Handed Catch: In Week 3, the Dolphins were down three to the Falcons in the closing seconds, when the rookie tight end came through with one hand tied behind his back, literally!

The Wake-Off Sack: On Halloween night, The Dolphins and Bengals were tied in overtime, when Cameron Wake took down Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton for a dramatic and unexpected ending to the nationally televised contest.

Clay Runs Through The Chargers: On November 17th the Dolphins and Chargers were tied at 10 in the 3rd quarter when Ryan Tannehill found Charles Clay on a short pass that Clay took to the end zone, breaking the tackles of numerous Charger defenders in the process.

Clay’s Game-Winning Grab: On December 8th, the Dolphins were trailing the Steelers by four points late in the fourth quarter at a snowy Heinz Field when Tannehill connected with Clay, who spun out of the grasp of a pair of Pittsburgh defenders and found the end zone for a game-winning score.

Michael Thomas Saves The Day: On December 15th, the Dolphins were protecting a four point lead in the closing seconds against the Patriots and with several of the defensive backs sidelined with injuries, Thomas stepped up to seal the win with an interception in the end zone.

Finsiders Analyst Selections

The crew was split on the vote for the award, which took place live on the program on FOX Sports Florida this evening. Former Dolphins CB Sam Madison and Finsiders Comment Center anchor Tristin Jones selected Michael Thomas’ game-sealing interception against the Patriots. Former Dolphins guard Keith Sims went with a Sims of course; Dion Sims and his one-handed game-winning touchdown against the Falcons. Meanwhile, Finsiders anchor John Congemi voted for Charles Clay’s tremendous touchdown catch and run against the Chargers. Clearly, this was an award in which all of the nominees were very deserving of the honor. However, the fans in the live chat at Dolphins.com voted for Wake’s game-ending safety against the Bengals, which was the clear consensus of the writers and the fans on this page; thus giving Cam Wake the award for his fantastic play on Halloween nigh

I'd have to vote for the Michael Thomas pick, literally jumped off my couch almost broke my leg lol. A close 2nd would be the Cam Wake sack vs Cincy, but i think it is better to focus on the positive instead of harping on the negative all the time no matter how bad it has been.

My fave was 4th and long, RT rolls left and hits Matthews for a first to keep a 2 min drive going.

Walk off safety. I busted into my bedroom, tackled my wife and yelled "walk off! walk off! walk off safety!"

Simple things get me fired up.

That is a good pick too.

I have to agree with you! The Michael Thomas pick was even more memorable because every Phin fan I know was on the edge of their seat and sweating out the last 45 seconds of that game!

The TD pass to Dion Simms at the end of the Atlanta game, or the safety by Cam Wake at the end of the Cinci game.

Offense:
The fourth quater throw on a broken play to gibson

Defense:

The grimes int that he ran back for a td from our own endzone

I would have to say clays bounce off spin move into the end zone vs. The steelers with the brady interception at a close second

some good contenders here.
In no particular order:
Tannehill to Gibson----Had he kept his feet and scored or we win in OT that would be higher on my list
Clay VS Steelers
Grimes pick 6 100 yards vs cincy
walk off safety by Wake
Micheal Thomas pick on Brady

I would have to say the pick to end the game against Brady. Not only was it a game winner, but it put us in position to make the playoffs barring an epic collapse...
Number 2 would be a tie: Wake walk off sack and Grimes pick 6. I remember jumping around screaming on both plays spilling my drink all over the floor! Good times
If Grmies doesn't get that pick 6 we lose, I think if Wake doesn't get that sack we probably still win the game
