the effect of the front office ignoring the WR position this off season. Our receivers are over matched by our secondary, and our oline is still a work in progress--that doens't lead to productive, highlight reel practices.

Now, I'm not bashing on the Front office, because I agree with them that you have to get the lines right first, but I hope the FO is looking at the 20 mil in cap space they have, and at least ENTERTAINING the idea of using some of it on a couple of receivers athletic enough to get seperation AND are experienced enough to know how to do that. Those types are in very short supply in South Florida right now.

Unless I am reading differently, Ginn has been getting great seperation this whole camp . . . Hagan looks like he finally is gonna GET it this year . . . and Wilford's size and dependable hands have impressed everybody . . . Bess has stucko on his hands . . . and Foster may end up being a faster Wes Welker . . . I mean maybe I am exaggerating a little . . . . but if anything it seems as the WR's are impressing the coaches. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing a veteran like Terry Glenn join this young group on WR's . . . but WR's have been a pleasant suprise so far. If anything the secondary looks great because the QB's have been off . . . but that is normal.

Would you be hoping for a trade or a FA acquisition? Personally I think you guys should go after Boldin.

Until we get a consistent QB . . . I would not break the bank for any WR. Ginn, Wilford and Hagan . . . throw in a veteran like a Terry Glenn . . . and the 2 fan favorites Bess and Foster . . . . I mean that seems good for now.

Bear in mind, early in camp it is traditional for defenses to be ahead of offenses....we're not seeing anything new here.

Isn't Daunte still looking for work? ;)

I don't think a playmaker on offense could hurt regardless who the QB is.

True, but this FO isn't gonna give up draft picks to acquire a Boldin . . . especially with this QB situation like it is. Other than that . . . who are we gonna bring off the street that will be so much better than what we have? I think BP and company like the idea of having 2 2nd round picks next year along with their first rounder and aren't gonna be giving 10 million a year and 1 or 2 of those high picks for a WR when we don't know what we have at QB . . . maybe next year, not this year.

Have you not been reading the camp reports at all?? It has sounded to me like the WR's are doing a really nice job. Its the QB's that are having a hard time in camp right now, and that sound like it may be the problem on the O-Line. I'm not saying we dont need a huge playmaker, but from reading the reports, the WR's have been looking very good.

You're right. Currently you all are in a rebuilding phase and don't need to make those type of moves.

I'm surprised Glenn hasn't been signed yet.

Yea, from everything I've read it seems like the WR's are doing very well. I expected the QB's to struggle a bit at first, but I was probably too optimistic about the O-line coming right out of the gates as it seems they are struggling so far. Hopefully the OL's troubles are mainly due to the defense exceeding expectations, but either way I'm still not worried about them. O-Line always needs time to gel, and like another poster said Defefenses are usually ahead of offenses this early.

Every Dolphin fans knows we should have drafted Bolden. Oh I forgot bad managment Miami had. It's a new day Snitches!!!

Yea with the OLine, the entire "gel" process may take the whole year . . . hopefully less, but I hope fans don't get discouraged so quick by the struggles they may have early on, especially Jake Long. The kid is gonna be a special player, I have no doubts about that . . . but he may not be AS successful as Joe Thomas was his rookie season.

I read a camp blog where Jake Long was beaten by I think Charlie Anderson . . . but the next play he and Smiley opened up a hole so big that the RB got 25 yards . . . something like that . . . it is definitely a work in progress, but I like what I see.
