Chad pennington was spectacular last year having the 2nd best seasonal qb rating in dolphin history behind the best performance ever by dan marino in 1984.
The jets dropped him last year after they got favre and we picked him up and he signed a 2-year contract, but what happens after this year?

What happens this year is pennington is the starter. Plays better than last year and the phins make the playoffs again!

Next year depends on penningtons play in 09.

I have said before that I hope Chad will continue with the Phins as a back-up. I believe he will accept that role if Henne clearly deserves the position...if not, we may have some issues...let's hope Henne "is what we think he is..."

Sounds good to me. If he does have another good season we could have a tough time bringing him back again as other teams will pursue him as well. I would really like us to resign him and bring him back, but it is hard to say whether he will be a starter or back up role.

First thing dude not cool i thought something bad happen to chad p with a title like that.

2nd I see more people think he will a back up... I think the question should of been what everybody wants... I certainly would like to be a back up, but also wish dan the man would be a qb coach, but neither of those will happen.

i think resign and traded or anything that will get him the starting job is whats going to happen. I believe he is not ready to give up the starting role... but maybe im wrong and secretly after all the years of us vs him he always wanted to be a dolphin and not a jet.

i evened the score!! wooooo! resign as starter....Henne and Pat will be ready to go when the time is right...dont throw away a good thing...Chad - who is a parcells prospect and a solid QB, just opened the second chapter of his career in a new city with new fans and new chemistry...

BP will be gone after next years draft, as will be Penny. Investing 2 2nd round draft picks in back to back seasons, says this team is moving on after this year.

Everyone counts HENNE as "money in the bank". Ditto WHITE. I WOULDN'T! I'm hoping, but both are just as likely to suck Wazoo as be any good. Thus far, they've shown NOTHING worth mentioning in real games. They are greener than the grass they play on.

As to PENNINGTON, if he has another great year, he'll get megabucks offers from all teams in need of a solid veteran QB, and he won't want to be a "back-up" to a college boy. Those of you who think otherwise should move to Fantasyland. Maybe you can buy a "starter home" next to the Mouse, the Duck, and the tall Retarded Dog.

I believe another year under Penny will and should be enough for Henne. Eventually the organization will have to see what they got in that draft pick. Henne will be entering year 3 of a 4 year rookie contract. There is a reason he was drafted and a reason why Penny was signed to a 2 year deal.

Ever wondered why they draft 20 years old's from college, pay them millions of dollars up front..... and stick them on the football field? As opposed to drafting players out of the Hall of Fame?

Chad Pennington was "green" once too....and unless he manages to take the team to the superbowl in 2009....they're going to find out what Chad Henne can do....

BTW....Goofy isn't retarded....he's just a little clumsy that's all...

resign and trade would be best for the team unless we win a superbowl this year, then I say resign him for another 2 years and trade him in the second year of that contract unless of course we win back to back superbowls.

Why in the h*ll would CP come back here as a backup when he could go to several other teams, no matter how he plays this season, and at least compete for a starting job? Quality QB play in the NFL is not easy to come by, so there will be several teams in the market for him after this season if he is not resigned. The only way Chad resigns in Miami is as a starter.

I don't care who it is.

I want the best QB starting for my team. Therefore i want him resigned and an open competition.
