Alright folks. Let's get this started. What will it take to draft Vince Young ?

Most of you are either enamored of Rivers (I don;t know why to be honest) and or Linehart (Does not have anf NFL caliber arm, but does have the intangibles that one looks for in a starting NFL QB). But in all truthfullness if there a better QB in the nation than Vince Young ??? What should we do to either prepare for drafting him this year or how do we postion ourselves to draft this phenomenal talent at qb ?

My outlook is simple, If he comes out this year, I believe it is time to trade/package/offer anyone on our team aling with out first this year and possibly next year.

If he stays in school this year, I propose we horde draft picks this year to fill the roster with as many good young players and position ourselves for a MAJOR trade next year for that top draft pick.

Thoughts anyone ??

hes on my top wish list too along with omar jacobs and brady quinn but i agree we def need to address the qb position this up coming draft no matter what... we also need a CB OL and safeties

Leinart doesnt have an NFL caliber arm? When does a strong arm mean you are NFL Caliber. I would take an extremely accurate, not so strong armed QB over a not-so accurate, incredibly strong armed QB. Now I'm not saying I dont want Vince Young, because he is the number 2 quarterback I want. Basically I wouldnt mind having either.

i hate to say this but vince young is staying at texas for one more year why because mack brown is encouraging him to get one more year of elgibility. so vince is staying in texas for one more year. this was mentioned on the radio friday but they can be wrong.

If Vince Young wins the National Championship and/or Heisman he will leave.

a championship or heisman will make him leave.

also him getting calls from agents that will tell him that he will be top 3 pick and get at least 20 million guaranteed and also that he might get injured next year if he stays will make him leave school too.

Thoughts?

Vince Young will never be a good NFL quarterback.

Heres my list of QBs 2 look at in the 2006 draft some may intend 2 stay in school another year....
Vince Young-Texas
Cody Hodges-Texas Tech
Matt Lienart-USC
Drew Stanton-MSU
Kellen Clemens-Oregon
Omar Jacobs-Bowling Green
Brady Quinn-Notre Dame
Marcus Vick-VT

It would take Miami to win a hell of a lot less than 6 games......Which i cant see happening. They would have to win like 3 games and be just so bad during the remainder of the season, and i cant see that. The games we lost have been close, and we've played some bad games but NOT that bad. We'll get around the 12th pick. Not enough to get Young and i wouldn't trade up or anything.....

I think Vince Young would be a prototypical WR in the NFL. 6'6" 245 and runs a 4.3... I dont see him as a QB. IMO, at QB he would be a less explosive Mike Vick in the NFL, but could be like a faster Plaxico Burress if he plays WR...

I personally dont like him as a QB prospect... but I would take him as a receiver...

Nasty

Of all of the quarterbacks mentioned in this post, Brady Quinn is the best. Vince Young is a good college system quarterback, but that shotgun formation quarterback draw play nonsense will get eaten up in the pros. Brady Quinn has four years worth of experience, and is presently being coached by one of the great offensive minds in football. (It's killing me to give an ex-Patriot coach credit, but hey, I have to be honest). Leinart is okay, but he reminds me of Ken Dorsey, Gino Toretta, and the other quarterbacks that played with pro players on the college level. If Vince Young comes out next year, then I would consider him, but he is just not ready now.

And some say this Draft class is weak in the QB position. :m359:

Theres absolutely no way that NFL Teams draft Vince Young as a quarterback. Vince has proven that he can throw the ball at high precentages. If anything, his career will end as a quarterback, not as a wide reciever.
