Would our 2nd and Ricky be enough to get into the 1st?

I think two 1sts and a first day pick in '07(and maybe Booker or a decent player) might give us the ammo for our choice of QBs.

What think ya?

if we could get into 1st round...it would be the 25 pick or in the twenties and we would likely have to give up our 2nd 3rd and maybe 5th or 6th...thats how it works no team would take any of those players mentioned..bottom line

As much as I have ragged on Ricky (I have been very reluctant to accept him back) I think he would help the team out a lot more by continuing to play at the level he is, rather than moving us up 12 picks. But if we have a high first and some other team has a low second and a need for a RB, that might do it.

Ricky is not worth anywhere close to a first because his year-to-year performance is inconsistent to say the least. (Unless Spielman takes over in Detroit).

We might get a low first-round pick if we trade JT, but I wouldn't want to do that.

I think we'd all have a list of those w'd like traded, but probably they wouldn't fetch much and I, for one, do not want to relinquish Ricky....So I guess we'll have to wait and see what magic our coach can come up with. Mainly, I'd like to see Gus gone, if we keep him it will be more of the same ole same ole next year playing to his capabilities instead of the rest of the team and I don't think Linehan should have the last say on this decision either.

I know Ricky is not worth a 1st. I'm saying our 2nd round pick+Ricky to move back into the first. That would give us 2 #1s and no #2. Maybe that second #1 nets us Cutler

yeah, ricky packaged with a 2nd rounder would move us into the first, maybe even top 20, but unlikely

Trading Ricky right now would be foolish. he is doing well<knock on wood> running hard and not being a distraction. having two great running backs available is very powerful and i see no reason to change that in the near future unless ricky goes off the deep end again

you mean 1st (ROUND). it depends on where the fins are overall in the 2nd round and how many spots you are trying to move up.

i would think of ricky as a 5th rounder at this point. i dont think your second rounder (~48th overall) and a 5th rounder will be enough trade for the 32nd overall pick. your 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder may move you up 5 or 6 spots.

We do not need two stellar running backs after this season. When Ricky starts making money we will get rid of him. Why not use him as trade bait? We could trade him + our 1st rounder for a higher 1st round pick. Or trade him and our 2nd rounder for a decent FA QB.

Look at Larry Johnson/Priest Holmes, after this season if holmes comes back or had he not gotten hurt LJ would not want to be there. Having two great Rb's is just too much of a distraction. I say trade Ricky for a good draft pick and get something good out of the deal.

i dont think the fins will be able to trade ricky for much of anything. if you want to trade him for a good player, then you will also have to throw in a few high draft picks. he will soon be asking for more money... a lot more money.

slightly off topic, Johnson is an average Rb behind a great O-Line.

and you dont need 2 great RBs. you only need 1 great one, and a good backup who can come in and play when the starter is tired, or injured.
