What would you give to move up and draft Rueben Foster?

I wouldn't give up anything. I get that Foster's a stud, and we do need a stud at Mike, but I personally wish we had extra picks to use; because imo, the 2017 draft is a good draft to have extra picks in, and we need all of em we can get our hands on.

I'm a HUGE Foster fan- absolute stud, but we aren't one player away from a being a good defense and MLB isn't a truly game changing position on DEF like a DE/ Edge player.

Would not trade up UNLESS somehow he drops to 17-20 and we can move up with a late RD pick next year.

Personally I prefer Cunningham. Cunningham sheds blockers, Foster hasnt had to hes clean on every play

I think I'd give up our first round pick and.......

my Kareem Abdul-Jabar and Randy McMichael jerseys up for Ruben Foster for sure, maybe sweeten the pot a little with a few hats, coins a sweatshirt or 2 and an d calendar of the cheerleaders, but that's it!

Foster is my top target. Love the way he plays. I like Adams #2, the safety from LSU. Both are close to the top 10 I think.

But, there's enough talent at linebacker to stay put and maybe get Davis or Cunningham at #22. That said, if Foster slides close to Miami's pick and it wouldn't require much to move up then yes.

Honestly, the more I look at the draft I think the Dolphins go defense end at 22 and then maybe trade up in R2 for the next best linebacker available. Thomas from Stanford, Charlton from Michigan or Murphy from Florida State could be in that range.

Nothing. Stay put and draft best available LB or DE.

Hey nick, I know you've posted a few times on your concern with drafting Cunningham due to him declaring or not, but I see that he did yesterday.. so that's good. I thought he was a middle linebacker though? Some places listing him as olb

Hes a Mike but he does have versatility to play OLB. Teams that like to move players around would love him. Ideally hes a Mike primarily

I know a lot of people like Zach Cunningham and he does look good, but he seems to lack in tackling skills. Maybe its his height? Idk.

I wouldn't trade up. I've almost finished watching all the bowl games, just 4 remaining. For once I think the annual chatter about a deep draft is legitimate. In particular there seem to be a ton of defensive backs and tight ends. Those are the areas I would prioritize for drop down value. Edge rushers look good also but in that position we'll have to wait for the metrics.

I didn't see many defensive tackles who wowed me. That's always a disappointment.

I would trade up for Malik Hooker or Solomon Thomas. Granted, the price is probably too steep but it's going to be sickening to watch where those guys are drafted in comparison to a stiff like Dion Jordan, when we had the opportunity. Hooker has rare game changing instincts, as oft noted. I have to thank him for setting up the cupcake wager on Clemson over Ohio State, via pick six vs Michigan to partially conceal the runaway ineptitude of JT Barrett. With the depth at safety I understand willingness to wait. But consider the gap between a true Ed Reed type and the guys drafted below him that year. I don't remember who they were. Nor should I. If you believe a guy is a generational player at his position you have to make every attempt. The Dolphins kid themselves with guys we desperately hope might be considered for a Pro Bowl someday.

Solomon Thomas has been a favorite of mine since signing day a few years ago when he sounded and acted like simply a different caliber of person than virtually any other recruit, from that season or any season. Instead of doing the stupid hat trick game while stumbling through basic sentences, Thomas embraced the Nerd Nation theme by wearing bookworm glasses. He also had a little Stanford tree on the desk. He comes from a mixed family. His parents beamed. Thomas was wonderfully articulate. I was annoyed he didn't choose USC but I've come to accept that Stanford is starting to monopolize the 5 star linemen who also have huge academic backgrounds and aspirations. It continues, although primarily on the offensive line.

Thomas is a bit undersized. I'll be interested to see what his arm length is. But from a talent standpoint he is a wow player. I've seen flashes of JJ Watt, Ndamukong Suh and even a little bit of Lawrence Taylor, although not as violent. The issue might be where to play him, since seemingly he could fit in anywhere, other than run stopping defensive tackle.

As I've emphasized many times, the Dolphins draft too many jerks or mental lightweights, as opposed to the '70s glory years. I have no idea how any general manager could interview Dion Jordan or even look into his eyes and decide that's the type of guy we want to bank on. Pouncey is another gem. Too many to list.

I love Thomas as well. Looks like he is now being mocked top 10 so would likely have to give up a pair of #1's to get him. Maybe that would be worth it. How big of a drop do you see from Thomas to say Charlton, who looks to be in Miami's range?

BTW Daniel Jeremiah now has Hooker as his #2 overall prospect.

Move up? do you know many holes we have? We have already thrown a pile of picks at our 5th wr, we can't give up any more

Agree. I posted earlier today (re: OL Scheme) that the phins have drafted way too may buttercups (D Thomas, J Martin, etc...) recently. The same can be said for the other positions as well.
