If it comes down to it and we have the 5th pick and had to trade up to number 1 what would u give up?

im willing to give up something like

2 - 1st rounders
2 - 2nd rounders
2 - 3rd rounders
2 - 4th rounders
2 - 5th rounders
2 - 6th rounders
2 - 7th rounders

i honestly think this is what it will take to get luck. 2 complete drafts and i would say he is all worth it... would u rather have a 22 year old payton manning or jared odrick, koa misi, john jerry, aj edds, nolan carroll, reshad jones, mike pouncey, daniel thomas? the only 2 decent players out of those two drafts look like pouncey and thomas... and who takes a center at 15??!!?

the point im trying to make is draft picks are overrated because the draft is such a gamble... you simply take the best QB prospect EVER and roll with him, idc who we have to give up for him.

Well it all depends on where our draft position will be. I assume it will be top 5. Next it depends on the market. There will be many teams looking to move up to get him (if the team drafting #1 doesn't want him). It may take an entire draft to get him (like Ditka for Ricky Williams).

The draft is overrated to those fans who have a GM that can not draft (Ireland). In reality, and in most ways, the draft is everything to a team's continued success. With that being said, depending on our position in the draft, I would move two firsts to get Luck.

I think that the draft position is overrrated, you can find good players in any round

Personally I dont know anything more than what I hear in the media, but if Luck is really all that he is cracked up to be, then you do whatever it takes to get him. If you knew now what you know about P. Manning, during the draft, what would you have done to get him? Thats what this question poses.

a package to include:

2012 and 13 first round picks
2014 3rd round pick
their choice of Cam Wake or John Starks
Reggie Bush

I don't know this John Starks fellow. Perhaps he's a sibling of Randy?

It's a steep price, but far more reasonable than the three first rounders or two entire drafts people have been talking about here. I wouldn't object to this.

I would give up the whole draft and even some of next years draft, even 1st and second round.........Ditka style!!. In reality, if we had him, the rest of the team wouldnt matter...........much like the Colts. All we would need is a line that can hold for a 5 step drop (3 secs), everyone else on the team will benefit from a franchise QB like Luck.

Lets not get carried away here. I think it will probably take 5-8 picks to get Luck, but not 14. I think even Herschel Walker was had for 8 picks. It depends what our record is at the end of the year and how many places we have to move up. If we are a bottom five team than five picks might do it.....if we are outside the bottom five we probably have no chance at all.

Look at the teams that will most likely be in the top 5. Most have quarterbacks or projects they've already drafted. Rams have Bradford, Chiefs have Cassel, Vikings drafted Christian Ponder last year. Colts still have Manning, but it's clear they're going to want his heir apparent. But I think Manning plays for another 5-6 years, and I'm not sure if Luck will be able to wait that long before starting. So really, in my opinion, it comes down to us and the Colts.

I would give up more than the next highest offer. Whatever it is.

This post RIGHT HERE is so telling of the blind faith that's put into players coming out in the draft. Jeff George, David Carr, Alex Smith, JaMarcus Russell...all supposed to be their year's "Suck for Luck" future quarterback.

How has that panned out for them thus far? Not too good!
