I remember a guy with a sombrero covered with dolphins colored rhinestones. He'd pull onto the field on one of those moto tricycles covered in Dolphins paraphanalia. Two questions: (1) what happened to him I don't see him at the games any more and haven't for a few years. (2) How in God's green earth did he manage to be on the sideline during all home games?

He had a heart attack and stopped doing the side line thing. He was horrible anyways. He didn't do much in his last few years, he just walked around.

Good point. How do we get to vote for a new sideline lunatic? We need one seeing as how the players themselves can't celebrate anymore. I'd love to see someone all dressed up like a loony squirting Herm Edwards in the eye with a super soaker.

Have you ever been to a Jags game thier Mascot is hilarious. He is always making fun of opposing players and fans. I wish we had some one more like him. In fact, I beleive he has been fined by the NFL for some of his antics. Last year at the Jags Vs. Fins game He shows up at mid field with a giant can of tuna and opens it and pulls out a dolphins mascot look-a-like and starts beating the crap out of him and stuffs him back in the can. He went by Wanny and made faces at him during a timeout (Wanny wasn't happy about it and walked away) But, Mr. H won't allow any of that he's to PC.

I believe he was eventually brought into the the Dolphins org. He did other promotions, like giving away trucks and I remember as a wee fin fan there was a coloring contest in the news paper to design his uniform. His hat and shoes are on display at the front office at the training facility next to Dan Marino's locker. In the enzone with the locker room tunnel there is a wacky fan who dresses up and has funny signs, we also have "Big Pappa Pump" who dances and gets the croud going. He also has a segment on Sunshine Network's Miami Dolphins show. Who knows maybe one day one of those deticated guys will replace the famous "Dolphin Denny" I did just find out that "Dolphin Denny" lives in Stuart and is enjoying some well earned R-N-R.:thewave:

Yeah, Dolphin Denny retired a couple of years ago (I wonder if he made it into the pro football HOF - for fans). I'm not sure how he got appointed #1 fan, but I do know he went to every Dolphins game since '66 (home & away). I actually have a Dolphin Denny trading card from '84. There are plenty of crazy-dressed fans (that dude with the orange wig comes to mind) at the games but none on the sidelines. We have our mascot "TD" on the sidelines. I'd like to see them make an aquarium and have a real dolphin mascot at Joe Robbie Stadium (SNOWFLAKE!).

The Fans hated him toward the end of his "career".......

I remember that a popular radio host down here (Neil Rogers) advocated throwing things at him and really got the ball rolling on the Hate Dolfan Denny bandwagon....

It got ugly toward the end.......

If we were losing....he would put up one of his signs and you would see something fly out of the stands and hit him in the head.....it was sad.....

At a Jets game, he was doused with something that was later determined to be Urine, it got really ugly.

he moved out of S. FL. My wife used to be a waitress at Gary's (University Bowl in cooper city/davie b/t griffin & stirling off of univ) once upon a time and met him there and became acquaintances with him. We've run into him maybe 2-3 times in the last few years down in S. FL. and he's doing fine.

hey, Didint we have a Poster named Dolphin Denny??? i thought thats who you were talking about.

We had the Finheads for awhile. They were fun at games. I see them but only sproadically now.
