Has anyone else noticed that this position has been a non factor this year? Who the heck is Lousaka Polite?? Wow...I'm seriously surprise right now. I woke up this morning and I asked myself who the heck is our fullback? Incredible we've made this position a non factor...that just really shows you how great our O-line has played!

NFL teams want versatility at every position now. Having a player who can only block isn't really enough. They want more of an H-back type player. It's the same with how runningbacks and tight end's are expected to be more active in the passing game than years ago.

The Dolphins do have a fullback though. A little guy who goes by the name Lousaka Polite

How long have you been watching Miami Dolphins football? Polite is the go to guy in short yardage situations. He had, IIRC, three first down conversions, and, was utlized in 4 conversion attempts, getting 3/4. That's pretty dang important, IMO. FB is a big factor for the Dolphins.

Which team's FB is it you would like him to be? Not everyone can be Lorenzo Neal.

Who is Lousaka Polite?

I just woke up this mornng and asked myself who our starting fullback was? To my suprise I checke the Dolphins depth chart and found Lousaka Polite. We have made this position a non factor and it just shows how great our O-line has been. If i'm not mistaken both Ronnie and Ricky are on the field only when running a wildcat play correct?

WOW, I guess I was caught up with Pennington's near to perfect drives and Ricky & Ronnie's trickery plays. My apologies.

Do you not watch the games? He has won us many games on his short yardage rampages.

The guy has been great in short yardage and keeping teams from keying on Ronnie or Ricky.

Ricky and Ronnie are on the field in multiple packages, not just the Wildcat. Ask yourself this; If you were a D-Coordinater and you saw R&R coming on the field and, the only time this happened was the wildcat....What do you reckon is comeing? That's why CP is split wide. It's partially built on surprise and, makeing them adjust.

Is this thread a joke? How can you be a dolphin fan and not know who Lou Polite is, or his 8 of 9 conversion rate on 3and 1's and 4th and 1's?

Shows how much you know about the Dolphins...

Must be a Ravens fan in disguise... Can we spam this crap thread?

Great insight on this, thanks!

The NFL seems to be going through a period of not using fullbacks in the way they were a couple of years back. I guess the success of offences like the Colts' and, as Rhody Fins Fan mentioned, the more versatile use of FB/TE (aka H-Back) players has shown offences can have success without a straight ahead blocker coming out of the backfield.

These things go through phases and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see FBs being used in a more standard role again in the future. If one team has great success with it, I'm sure others will follow suit.
