I feel that Saban cannot allow the team to have another slow start.

He has to find a way to fix that. I'm not certain Saban has his finger on what exactly causes this team to deflate, but whatever it is, he has to fix it so that it does not eat away at our playoff chances.

I agree. The coaching staff's responsibility will be to keep Miami from slipping into losing streaks. They cannot afford to lose more than two games in a row. It makes it too hard to come back from.

well, starting a QB whose just not ready in the head doesn't help. I feel that next year Saban will have it figured out.

Another playoff-chance-eliminating start will eventually take its toll and we'll finish the season the same way we started it. I have no idea what the cause is. I don't know if we train too hard or not hard enough or what. It's perplexing. Maybe we just need Wanny to coach the first half of the season and then have Saban coach the second half of the season.

:sidelol:

But with likely upgrades at certain postions and Ricky coming back you can expect some more high offeseason expectations.

i see us falling back to 5-11 or 4-12 again, as saban trys to get his 'youth' on...he has to, if he's ever gonna get "cap smart"...sucks, but the age thing is killing...

i think the reason we have started slow the last 2 years is because of the change of coaching staff, systems and obviously new players.

Another problem is that Miami can never beat the weaker teams. I think they always play to the level of their competition. They play teams like Chicago, New England, tough and wind up winning. Then against teams like Houston, Green Bay, etc, they play horrible and get beat.

They gotta come out and beat the teams that they are supposed to beat

Well that is part of it. Playing down to competition is typically a focus and self-discipline thing. But why is the focus and self-discipline lacking? The sad thing is that I don't think no one not the coaches, players, fans, or media know exactly what it is.

Yeah its an every given Sunday league as far as parity but something has to give. But we are not the only franchise dealing with this how about the Jags drubbing us and the Colts and then losing to the Titans with all of those INTs this week. The Jags also had issues with the Texans too.

We must beat the GBs, Texans, and yeah the Bills of the league next year to belong in the post season. Something is missing with this team as far as confidence and ability to not get set up in a trap game.

Totally agree. Consistency and focus seem to be missing...even worse, it is contagious. One player drops the football, nobody steps up to inject continuity back onto the field. It is frustrating no doubt.
