The thread "Unfinished Business" got me to thinking. When looking at teams as a FA, dont you have to look at where the organization is headed. And as long as Parcells is leading this organization, I believe he will stay until he gets another championship. That will complete his resume. And I believe the league see that as well.

I believe that guys like Jason Brown would be more likely to sign with us for this reason. He will make more money than he will ever need either way. Most players and all former players will tell you it is all about the ring. I bet Dan would trade some of the money he made as a player for a ring. So even if there are teams like St. Louis that can offer more money, a player who would choose them over a team that looks to be a contender, is not a player worth having. Haynesworth is a perfect example of this. The Skins aren't going anywhere that I can see. But he went there for the big payday. It's like Jeff Saturday coming out and saying that he wanted to play guard for Pittsburgh, then taking Indy's money. This is why certain players aren't being signed by us. I believe the trifecta wants guys who want to win first. Guys who want to be a part of something that is more than just dollar signs.

So keep the faith and believe that we are a contender and that Parcells, Ireland and Sparano have this organization on the right track to be a long term contender.

A Super Bowl ring is priceless...

that one credit card company should od a commercial...

Abert Haynesworth... 100mill

Bart Scott... 54 mil

A Dolphins Super Bowl ... Priceless

You're not wrong.

They're making it look easy. You sign guys for what they're worth and don't overpay. You let guys go that can be replaced for cheaper or with more talent. You build the foundations through drafts and you build from the inside out.

It's easy when you do the simple things well. They're doing all the simple things very, very well right now.

I have to admit that I would trade a Dolphins Superbowl for 100 million dollars. Does that make me a bad fine? Possibly... but I'd still do it.

I just hope he is still in charge next year with that uncapped year looming. We will need his greatness to keep our newbie owner from wanting to compete with Al and Jerry and ruining our franchise.

With the state of our economy I beleive it would be a matter of having too instead of wanting too.:(

I am guessing that you have never played for an NFL team. But what do you think Dan Marino would say? I'll bet he would have gladly taken a million a year less for 1 ring. That's 17 million over his entire career.

Well he would NOW. He has the money and his career is finished.

I'm always surprised in honesty that more high profile, ringless vets don't take minimum salaries in an attempt to get a ring in their last couple of years a la Grant Hill.

I don't think championships are as important to most players as the media would have us believe. Even "team first" guys like manning and brady get HUGE $$ up front when they renogotiate deals to get more help in.

You get what you can get when you can get it.

A ring definately isn't a worth a $100 million dollars for ONE player. Sheesh!

He will never see all that money. Mark my words. He'll not live up to the pressure, get hurt or stomp on someone else's head. One way or another, he will not see it all. And I don't think he will see a ring. Not in DC anyway.

One thing you guys are forgetting is that this is the NFL where any year a team can come out of nowhere and have a shot at winning it all. These players also have ego's through the wazoo, they can think that they will be the difference in making other teams so much better so they can take the big pay day and win a championship.

Your signature says it all. These guys get the fat cat syndrome. They quit putting in the effort. And why should they. If I had that kind of money garunteed to me, I wouldn't. That's why I am sitting here talking to you guys and he is picking out his new Ferrari or whatever he is going to do with all that money.
