Do you think he has already done enough to at least acquire some consideration for next year? Let's say, we finish the season at an even 8-8, would that be enough? If we miraculously do end up making the playoffs, then surely he deserves a fair shot starting from week one? Either way, Daunte should have to EARN back the number one spot - and not have it handed to him on a silver platter again..

He's here as trade bait...

That's all he is.

Trade bait.

More games like that, less games like basically every other he has played this season, and beating Culpepper out in training camp/preseason.

joey is a great backup qb and that's it. he has no long ball.

In my opinion, he has done enough already to go into camp next year and enter and OPEN competition for the position. I have always been against a QB just being GIVEN anything. Culpepper, this offseason, was GIVEN the job no questions asked (even though Harrington outplayed him in the preseason games.) I hate when a coach hands the keys over the QB X without him having to earn it. Everything should be competitive. It brings out the best in both (or all three) guys who are fighting for the job. A QB who has it without having to work tends to take it for granted, not work as hard, and approach everything more non-chalantly. I want our QB to have a fire lit under his *** every day in practice and go out there and definetively PROVE he is the man. had that happened correctly during camp and preseason this year, we may be discussing playoffs with a little more confidence this year.

YEAH YEAH YEAH. I heard that **** about Ricky Williams too. I'd venture to say Harrington will be back with us next year.

I think he will have to win out this season to be the starter next year and I do not think he is trade bait.

At the very least, they need an open and honest competition in training camp/preseason next year.

 I think it's safe to say the job is Culpepper's to take at this point as opposed to Harrington's to take. As far as that trade bait BS goes I don't know what your smokin but must be some good stuff! Harrrington has done nothing but improve week to week, best game today, if he leads us to a win over the Jags I would say Miami has found there QB time to trade Daunte. Still some things to be determined for sure, can Harrington keep playing at this level? That is the only question left in my mind at this point.

I think Joey will be our starter next year as well.

Can he do what he did today against a good or very good defense? That has yet to be seen but he gets props for playing a good game today but anyone has to admit Detroit's pass defense is as bad as it gets. As far as next year goes, he will have to play his way into that job by almost winning out with exceptional play.

Daunte will be given one more chance as a starter to prove that he can be effective in this offense, if he fails again then Joey will be our starter.

Until Harrington stops improving we really dont know who's got the best chance next year. right now Harrington has had his first game as a Dolphin where everything clicked. He needs a few more of those before we annoint him the king

The more good games he has, the higher his trade value. If he can keep the stats where they were this week, that would make up for his poor play early in the season. We may get a first for Scarrington.
