What do u all think of Jason Allen and our draft class me personally im not so happy with Allen he is not a great takler and was out of position a lot...i know he has only been with the team for a little while but it scares me with what i have seen so far....

Hagan has not done a lot either he has caught like 2-4 balls but has also dropped or had 2-3 knocked out of his hands.... i liked him in college but can he still translate his sucess to the nfl?

What about Toledo ...how has he been.. i havent noticed him much (ohh by the way in the panther game Alabi played RT i thought he was gonna be our rt?)

Evans has been good so far but hes only be going against weak opponents, however i see upside in him. i cant wait to see rod Wright play next year i think he will be a beast, if u wanna know why go back and watch the College Championship..he was great. Also i havent seen much of Devin A. and dont know much about him.

your thoughts?

Well there is a thread already where all the intelligent football minds are saying that Jason Allen is a bust.:shakeno:

i didnt say bust i just said not impressive.... maybe i will take him a year or 2 to develop i mean he missed some of his senior year due to the injury

jason allen is becoming one of my favorite dolphins. I love the players that are just destined to prove fans wrong.

I'm just being sarcastic. Some of the replies in that thread are pretty pathetic though.

The same people that said Ronnie Brown was a bust early last season.

I was thinking the same thing. It was actually pretty humorous to read them all.

I was at the game this week, and let me tell you...the problem the secondary is having, Allen included, is that they are again taking bad angles to the ball carriers and recievers. The EXACT same problem that plagued our secondary in the first 8 games last season...these guys just have not gelled yet...

Seeing as the topic of J Allen's progress continuously bears repeating, so does this:

Saban's schemes for the defensive backfield take time to learn for NFL veterans (like Madison last year). If you're a rookie, it's going to take even longer to learn. At this point it's not really fair to judge the new players in the secondary on blowing coverages in the preseason. Just be patient with the learning curve, and trust that by year's end our defensive backfield will be one of the toughest to pass against in the league. Now, try to look at the positive of what we've seen from Allen: He jams well (look at how he handled Keyshawn in last night's game), he's learning 2 positions for us, he's showing improvement in coverage with every game, and he's showing the desire to get better. As for his tackling, he may not have the best form, but at least he's not afraid to get in there and try to make a hit on the ball carrier. I have yet to see him shy away from hitting ANYONE! That is the kind of mental toughness we need in the secondary.

exactly i remember that.boy were they all wrong:lol:

i think fred evans could be the most impressive so far.hes a suprise when we drafted him i thought we couldve got a better pick but i was wrong.hagan is doing well.allen is starting to get it together

It didn't take me more than 3 preseason games to see Jamar Fletcher was a bum, so with that, I can see we have a potential problem with Jason Allen. Maybe he'll prove alot of people wrong, but there are ALOT of people down on him right now.

RB as the #2 overall pick is going to need to do A LOT more than rush for 900yds and 4 TD's in order to prove them wrong. Those are Parmalee-type numbers. I'm thinking RB will prove them wrong, but I don't think he has yet.
