What's with the "name branding"

Anyone else notice in whatever game you may have been watching how much the announcers refered to the NFL?

In the saints game they kept saying how "these NFL tackles just don't miss" and calling any big hit "Now that's an NFL hit" and so on.

is their some new competative football league preparing to start up or something?

i noticed that refs have the NFL logo on their hats now. there is no other league that could possibly compete with the NFL.

if there is any reason why announcers are saying these things, its because they may be appealing to an international audience. international audiences may not have a sense of the level of play in the NFL 'casue they have nothing to compare it to.

NFL Europe is really getting pushed and its clear that the NFL wants a franchise outside of the US
