Whats up with ppl wanting to trade Ricky and our defensive core?
We need them to groom our future players.
With the exception of Madison. I say keep em if theyre cheap.

i take it as people are just a little pissed after a loss and get a little crazy.....though there are just some insane ones

Yeah come on people, u think we're going to win a superbowl with all of these young draft picks? You need some veteran leadership to go far in the league. Thomas and Taylor have another 3 good years in em. Let them play their days out in Miami, they have put out nothing less than 100% everyday.

Jason Taylor and Zach are aging veterans, who are still very productive, the reason people bring up trading them I believe is because they have value. I don't wanna see them go but the NFL is a business and players rarely spend their whole career with one team anymore.

Look at Indy though theyve kept a solid group of players on Offense like Manning, James, and Harrison.

Im not sayin we're anything like the Colts but shoot our cap probs are gone.
Hopefully theyll take the vet min.

Our best players are old. Pro sports are god eat dog. I love Zach and Jason, etc. But we need to get younger, we need a new core. Our veterans are declining every year, we need to incline now. It is time to clean house!

DJFresh and 4eva are right...This is a business, Zach and JT have tried for 10 years, on teams where our defense was the strength and we couldn't do it. They have value now, if we wait they will not. Why not trade two guys who have value, and are injury-prone the past 2 years, and get quality players, picks, and free up cap space? We have many problems on our team, even in those areas (defensive line--old, and linebacker)

Indy kept their core together, but they're an elite team. Jason Taylor and Zach have been great, but at some point they're gonna get replaced. Nobody wants to see the guys traded, but really how valuable are they to a team that is 3-7? Take a great player off of a great team and the team will decline, take a great player off of an already bad team, how much worse can it really get? Saban's rebuiliding the team, and by the time the team is ready to contend which will be 2007, IMO, i'm not sure that Taylor and Thomas will still be the core of the team.

Wicky is far from our BEST offensive player, and I am some what confused with those threads as well. Wicky is one failed drug test away from a 1-year suspension, so I seriously doubt he has any real trade value for the rest of his career.

Defensive core? I guess you are referring to Zach and Jason? What have they ever done for us in big games? They are very good players, but they are replaceable. We need to get younger and tougher. The Dolphins have not been a tough physically (or mentally tough team) team since the 70's. Zach gets hurt every year, and is 33 years old. And he really isnt a difference maker anymore. This is business.

And I really dont get how a LB or a DE is suppose to groom someone else. Does Crowder need grooming? If you can play, then thats all you need. The coaches can help with the intangibles.

You're right!! How can we win any more superbowls if we trade those guys? Can this people see that with this defence we've been winning superbowls left and right? Oh wait...that's right....we haven't won jack s...with those guys so why are you worry about losing them? What's the worst that can happen if we trade the old guys? Maybe we won't win with the new guys? Well guess what? We haven't won with the guys we have now so why not try something different?BTW,I didn't start any threads about trading anyone but if Nick trades them all then great, at least he's trying something different.

Ozzy rules!!
