Ok, just to let everyone know, I am new to this site so bare with me if I seem a bit redundant with these following questions. I have my own opinions but I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks........

1. Yeremiah Bell - I don't know about you guys but this guy gives me the impression that if he was given a reasonable amount of playing time he could be a game changing player. Last year he only played sparingly....why??? I remember a sack he had against the Chargers where he caused Brees to fumble, and I think he finished the year with 3 or 4 sacks so why doesn't he get a better look??? He can't be any worse than what we've had back there over the past few years. Marion, Tebucky Jones, Schulters, Freeman.....these guys were decent but I don't think Bell is any worse than them and he has shown his willingness to want to be a starter....can anyone post a pic of him from his rookie year to what he looks like now???

2. What is all the hype about Vickerson??? Didn't he pull his ovary and miss his entire first camp and season only minutes after signing with the team??? Was he really that good in college (7th rounder, I doubt it) or is everyone just being a homer and think that every Dolphin draft pick will be a player??

3. Matt Roth..........I hate to say it but I think this might be Saban's only mistake of last year. I liked him in college and I liked the pick at the time, but I have a feeling the NFL is just a bit to physical and fast for him, but I hope he proves me wrong.

4. Matt Sinclair.....I noticed someone posted a thread the other day about him, and bravo to you sir because Sinclair is definately the real deal in that Eurotrash league, I just don't know about him enough to comment. How long has he been in the NFL? Is he just shining in a league with wannabe's or can he really cut it in the NFL. I watched one game with him and he was literally all over the place. Dare I say.......he reminded me of Zach??? (just a little anyway).

5. STOP WITH THE CLEO LEMON QUESTIONS ALREADY!!!!!!!! I live in San Diego and he never ever ever ever played a single down with the Chargers. He only played a little in preseason (and I mean very little) and I would have to compare his arm strength with a women's softball pitcher from a team of 8 yr olds.

6. Why did we sign Teyo Johnson???? He can't block better than McMike and I really don't think he has better hands?? So what gives?? Was it just for the depth at the position??

1. Injury prone maybe?

2. Vickerson actually played in two preseason games I believe and looked like a solid player.

3. Agree with Matt Roth.

4. I think Sinclair has a chance to make the roster at least as a special teamer.

5. Third stringer.

6. Yes, depth will have to fight for a spot in camp.

1. He is good. He probably isnt a Pro Bowl caliber player. Just good.

2. Honestly, I have wondered the same thing myself. Saban said he was good. OK. Was Saban really gonna say he sucks?

3. He contributed some last year. Im looking forward to seeing him get more PT this year.

4. Havent seen him at all. I can't comment.

5. Saban is supposedly high on him. Maybe he really is, but like I said earlier is Saban gonna come out and say he isn't developing? Doubtful. We may have something. Probably not.

6. We cut Diamond, so I guess Saban thought Teyo was better than Diamond. I don't know that much about Teyo.

roth got like 0 zero playing time and this is his second year, how can u deem him a mistake already?

1. Bell IS a solid player and will fight for a starting spot in camp.

2.didnt see Vickerson play, cant comment.

3.wait and see on Roth. he is still adapting to the pro game, not everyone can come out and dominate. its been one year, give him a chance.

4. we need depth at LB. he might provide that.

5. Cleo has potential. thats it, we're gonna see a lot of him in camp and in preseason because of Daunte's injury, so we'll see about him.

6. apparently Teyo is extremely skilled. played wr in college, just doenst have the break away speed to beat out corners in the pros. will be a great redzone threat and good on 3rd downs. he can exploit mismatches with his size on safetys and speed on LB's, should be a good asset.

I didn't say Roth is a bust, I said "I think this may be Saban's only mistake" I haven't declared Roth a bust and I know he played sparingly but he just didn't seem to click like other rookies do. I know it sounds weird but Travis Daniels (at times) gave the impression he has been in the nfl for a lot longer than a rookie. All I'm saying is that Roth wasn't anywhere near the caliber of player he was in college and if there are any Dolphin/Iowa state fans out there I'm sure they'd agree. I really really hope I'm wrong on this, but it's just a gut feeling that's all.

I agree about Roth. Except I wasn't impressed with him in college.
Last year he looked small, weak and slow as molasses.
Maybe this year he'll show something...I'm hoping.

I think you are a very astute individual. I see the same thing as you do pertaining to Daniels and Roth. Daniel's play at times looked effortless and smooth where Ross sometimes looked like he was working overtime, yet only accomplished so much. Ofcourse, there are many factors that feed in to this. Perhaps Daniels is a beast because he got extra attention. Db's are Saban's specialty plus the kid's a Tiger. Maybe Roth is a late bloomer, just needs time. Perhaps not. Eitherway, I can see where you're coming from.

Actually Roth got quite a bit of playing time considering the players he had in front of him last year.

He was instrumental in short yardage and goal line packages and did very well holding his own.

The problem is that people expect way too much from rookies. You had people calling Ronnie Brown a bust after his first couple of games as well.

I think Roth will be fine if he progresses in his second year.

i'm a big fan of yeramiah bell, matt roth is good he will develop over the next two years (a project in the making; not this year), vickerson is a baller (i know i sound like a homer right now but he is a solid player), and teyo johnson is a great #2 TE (good hands and a decent blocker for a back-up)....We are in a good position for this draft, either chad jackson or a DB...the only way we take a WR is if chad is avaiable

Lets give Roth a little time. He definitelly has the drive and the attitude to get better. You gotta remember, even JT didn't exactly light it up his first couple years in the league, and look at his badself now. Let us just show a little patience.

1. Bell has always looked like he would make a great safety, it just took too long for the last coaching staff to realize that. Once he's up to speed on Saban's system and polished enough to call the coverage audibles, he'll probably be a full time starter at safety.

2. (Take this with a grain of salt because I live a few blocks from Michigan State campus and yes I am a serious homer in that regard) Vickerson could be a beast. Kevin Carter thinks so. Before he got injured in the preseason, he played like it. He has everything you look for in a 3-4 left end and might even translate into a good pass rushing DT. The big knock on him is his work ethic, but if anybody can get him to play up to his potential, it's Saban.

3. Dont judge a rookie by his first year. Roth was adjusting to a more complex defensive scheme than he was used to, in a diferent defense than he was used to, and he was buried on the depth chart by some serious playmakers. His day will come. Just be patient. As for Daniels and Crowder's early success, just remembe that both of them are phenominal athletes, one knew Saban's system, and it is very, very rare for rookies to make that kind of a positive impact as early as they did. Count you blessings. :)

4. I wish I knew more about him. Feel free to keep me posted with any clips you may find on him.

5. I have no reason to think that Lemon couldnt be a serviceable back-up in the long run. Plus, Saban seems to think that if we cant get a veteran to back up C-Pep, Cleo is a viable second option.

6. It really doesnt make much sense to me, either, but it does make for good competition going into training camp. Let's see how it pans out, because there's really no way we'll be able to keep ALL these tight ends on our roster.

Roth is gonna prove you wrong!

ill have to disagree with u on roth their bud..
:shakeno: With the D- line we have did you really think a rookie was gonna steal time. When I saw him play last year he showed the ferocity with which he played college ball. He never looked intimidated. Sure, maybe he missed a few and got blown out of the play, but he was a rookie. The guys a stud and is going to really help our D this year:fire:
