I am freaking stoked to have Brees as our signal caller and from the looks of it it will happen but how soon.

Sometime after March 3rd unless they don't cut him. But I'm not even sure about that due to the injury. I'm still not sold on Brees arm...and that was before it was injured....

They don't have to cut him, he is free to leave. His contract has ran out and their not putting a tag on him to restrict him from leaving.
 
If they get a Collective Bargaining Agreement reached before the Deadline, Free Agency should start on March 3rd..? But I'm SURE Brees is gonna wait a few days and listen to EVERYBODY's offers. He'll go to the highest bidder. It's not a for sure thing yet..I bet he and the Dolphins haven't even talked yet, so dont get yourself so excited.
 
I'm sure Brees wnats to see what his options are but Saban wants to explore every option too.....I think Nick will talk to more than one QB before deciding on wo he wants....one thing's for sure, it looks more and more like we're getting a QB before the draft.

I can't see anyone signing him until he gets medical clearence. He can't even work out until May.
 
Can a "when can we sign Brees?" thread be merged with a "sign Brees!" thread?
 
Sweet...he could be our new QB in two weeks. :tongue:
 
It will probably be alittle less than a month before he's signed to a team. He's gotta be cleared medically and listen to the best offer. Miami needs to throw some serious money at him.

I would guess that "cleared medically" might be the sticking point. Although he is 4 weeks ahead of schedule in his rehab, He can't throw until May 1st and won't be at full strength until mid July. Miami will have to play the percentages.
