I'm back in Florida BABY!
Is it just me or have we had one thing or another to sit on the edge of our seats about over the past three or so years? First we had to wonder if Wayne was going to fire Dave after the '03 season and were disappointed when he didn't. Then Ricky retires before camp and lucky Dave resigned. Then we sit and wonder will Bates be hired, will Speilman be fired, what's going to happen? We go after Saban and sit and wonder (like Alabama) can we lure him away and sit and wonder and sit and wonder and see the Dolphins Plane as it flys to and from Baton Rouge. What will Nick decide? Finally we get Nick and there is joy in Dolphins land. Saban even talks Ricky into coming back. Speilman goes but Mueller is hired. We have a better than expected first season and then last offseason again, we are on the edge of our seats. Will Ricky or Won't Ricky be suspended? Will Brees sign with us or New Orleans? We get (at least for now) the short end of both those situations and get C-Pep of course. Then, Will C-Pep be ready for the season or won't he? We start and begin to finish the season, and now, can we just have a quiet offseason? One with no news other than maybe a coaching move (assistant/mularkey) or two, the free agents that are signed, and the kids that we draft? No, once again, we enter an offseason on the edge of our seats. Will he or won't he? Do we or don't we?.. On top of that, there is the Jason Taylor news (Regardless of it it's emotional talk after a tough season or not). :shakeno: I don't care what Nick does. I just want a coach to come in and want to be here and care about returning this franchise to the top.

Ha 3 years ago, when Dan Marino came and left in a week, We traded for AJ Feeley for a 2nd round pick, Ricky retired, Lamar Gordan for a 3rd. And so on.

A better question would be "Why is this happening?" Why does it seem like everything has gone wrong for the team after having such a promissing start? I really don't think things can get any worse right now. The Jets are in the playoffs, were at the bottom of the division, and our leader is rumored to be jumping ship. These are the times i ask myself can things get any worse? I'm not trying to be overly dramatic about the situation but it's flat out killing me that my team is looking so bad,

When did we become a Soap Opera?

When Jimmy Johnson took over the reigns.

yep all punishment for pushing the classiest coach out the door. if brining the don back would fix all this, i'd be for it.

We're in a sorry state right now. I can't help but think this is the reason that Saban wants to leave.

Wild and Phan, I agree 100%. After Shula was "retired" and JJ was hired, all of this stupidity started. Its sad looking at what this franchise has come to. Remember when JJ quit, "my momma died and ah just caint go on", yeah right. What a joke! And now Saban is talking to Ala. If he was not interested as he has repeatedly said, why would he waste the time talking to them? Everyone askes if things could get worse, yes, the retirement of JT and evetually ZT would mean that the Fins would no longer have any Pro bowlers for quite some time. And I would not blame either if they did retire if Saban leaves, especially in JTs case, go out while on top.

I'll never forget, in 1995 when Don Shula "retired", Chris Berman on ESPN said "The Miami Dolphins will rue the day that Don Shula left." How true.

truer words have not been spoken. gosh we were all excited when Jimmy fresh off his super bowl victories came to bail us out, but then, jimmy went berserk as soon as he took over and the soap opera began. I don't feel sorry for Wayne, but he has had a run of horrible coaching fortune. begging jimmy to stay (what owner begs his coach to stay?), then heeding jimmy's insane advice he hires his buddy, Dave, fresh off his 5 year mess with the Bears. Dave quits in disgrace just like Jimmy (although wayne didn't try & talk him out of it). The new saviour arrives, Nick, fresh off his NCAA championship and endorsed by Bellichick as: "the one guy he seeks out when he needs defensive guidance!" Where Jimmy was nasty about the Shula tradition and dissed it from day one, Saban said the right things about Shula and tradition and saved his nastiness for the media. But, in the end, Saban capitualted to his own ego and wants to leave now because he can't deal with his self-inflicted adversity. Despite the fact that he has hordes of sympathetic Sabanites and is getting paid a king's ransom. Wayne begs yet another coach to stay...the soap opera continues.

It's a constant soap opera when the ownership and front office doesn't remove the soap opera!!

We keep Ricky around for some reason. Keep bringing that traveling circus back every chance we get.

Once Nick meet with Alabama yesterday we should have fired him or locked him out.

When Randy McMichael is using his wife as a speed bag we should have let him go. At least after the 2nd time!!!!

Why keep the "drama" around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the World of the Arizona Cardinals Fans

I agree with those who said we became a soap opera when Shula retired/was fired. We've looked desperate ever since...as if Huizenga is desperate to prove that he made the right move by letting the Don go.

We're in a sorry state right now. I can't help but think this is the reason that Saban wants to leave.

But he's responsible for at least 50% of that "Sorry State" we are in right now. What an insult to Wayne.
