I understand there are still a few lingering Dolphin homers out there, but there are probably less now than I've ever seen before.

I was a happy-go-lucky Dolphin homer for quite a well, excited by each new coach hire with dreams of super bowl victories dancing in my mind...

I think that all changed for me during the Harbaugh debacle, and then finally with the Cleveland game that year that crystallized that Sparano was a failure and that the team was on its 4th cycle of failure since I started following them...

I had very little hope for Philbin, though I tried to give him a chance. I was almost immediately down on him after watching Hard Knocks. Ive had very little hope since Ross took over and now I am staunchly a realist as it pertains to this team and organization...

Somehow, this offseason, I allowed myself to have some semblance of hope and excitement again even with the horrific decision to retain Philbin after a hollow Vikings win. But that too, was quickly vanquished.

I don't think I will ever get my hopes up again with this team so long as Ross owns the team and the coach is still unproven.

When did you turn?

If you didn't seriously question your loyalty to this team during this season, than your a homer still...

I was drinking the Kool Aid until we got steamrolled by Buffalo in Week 3.
People were already jumping ship after the Jacksonville loss but I was willing to give them a chance - yeesh.

I'm just hoping that they get a good coach in here this time around. The board is notoriously, albeit rightfully, cynical right now.

I'm always a bit optimistic about the Fins......but after the first Buffalo game followed by the Jets game in London, I was seeing this wasn't going to be a year to be proud of.

Still, with that said, I'm a fan. I expect the worst and hope for the best. That's just the way it is.....

Why can't it be both? I'm a realistic homer.

I was a homer until we got 8 loses and i'll be one again once they name a new coach regardless of who that coach is.

Isn't that what a fan is supposed to do ?

When we gave Wanny the extension it was Christmas 2003 I almost smashed the TV.

Pretty much describes me, lost confidence after we realistically were out of reaching the playoff, but once we get the new HC, i will be on board, and once the Dolphins attempt to fix their deficiencies in the draft and FA, I will again be going crazy for the season to start.

Hope springs eternal ... or some crap like that :)

Hey I'd rather be miserable after my team goes south in December(or sooner) than be miserable all year long :idk:

I just went out in my garage and hit my thumb with a framing hammer.

It was far less painful than trying to keep aqua glasses on for Miami.
