It's obvious from the statements coming from the team that Tannenbaum is now the voice of the team. Everyone maintains that Hickey is responsible for putting together the roster, but it's obvious that Tannenbaum wields final say. When does that come to a head?

Tannenbaum was fired by the Jets largely for personnel misses. Based on Hickey's performance in last year's draft, I was comfortable with his ability to find talent upgrades this year. Now I'm skeptical. If Tannenbaum has the authority to overrule Hickey in the draft war room, this could fall apart fast.

I am thinking Hickey still gets to run the draft, Tannenbaum is the SOLE reason we were able to sign Suh. I am happy with the current structure.

Hickey is affable. I don't necessarily think that this setup won't work. What kind of personality does Tannenbaum have? If they get along and Hickey is happy with what Ross pays him, there talents could be additive working together. Then again it could all implode in a few months. We'll know soon enough.

This has bomb waiting to explode all over it. I'm so frustrated about this. Why can't we just have a front office that's has an actual structure and works well together? Ross totally just slapped Hickey right in his face with this.

well...according to some..its in shambles anyways...seriously, why are some of yall even fans if all you can say is...oh wow...whens the sky gonna fall...

Hickey and Tannenbaum seem to be on the same page to me after watching their interaction during the Suh press conference.

To me the big question is; How do they feel about Philbin?

Tannenbaum gives Ross the warm fuzzies and seems to be the overseer of Hickey's work now. I think Tannenbaum said yesterday that the draft was Hickey's deal. Hope so. Does seem like too many chiefs so to speak.

Yeah dude, cuz we've been consistently putting a good product on the field. Our front offices have been outstanding. It's called cynicism due to a ****ty team. Dude, don't question our fandom. We are still here after being irrelevant for almost two decades. That makes us die hard fans.

It's simple... The team wins.. The structure will be just fine. They lose and it will be in shambles

I think this setup will work fine because Hickey is basically in the same role now as he was with Buccs and I think he is comfortable with that. He has title of GM but he is really a glorified scout. His focus is TOTALLY on talent acquisition as is his forte. He doesn't concern himself wih contracts and negotiations. That is all Tannenbaum and Aponte. Hickey basically admitted all this on a finsiders interview yesterday.

Hickey doesn't have an alpha dog mentality or personality. I honestly think he feels more comfortable in a supporting role, not the lead role. For that reason, I think it can work

Wha? Says who? The sole reason we were able to sign Suh is because we paid him more than anyone else.

We're already seeing the differences with the FO change. We've had our big splashy signing and seem content not to make any more impactful FA moves. Tannenbaum's doing it differently than Hickey did after signing Albert. Suh is obviously a difference maker, but unless we have an incredible draft I don't see how we're going to improve dramatically. It's unlikely Hickey's here next year. We're plunging headlong into the Tannenbaum era.

Tanenbaum has a ton of connections in the agent world, its obvious he was the one who should be doing the free agency dealings. Hickey is the draft guy and probably made the call as to which players to pursuh, tanenbaum does the talking, aponte crunches the numbers to make it happen. Seems like a workable system if you ask me. Plus I think david Harris would've gotten a call had tanenbaum been in charge of picking the players to go after, I just don't think hickey thought the same way.

Why does Tannenbaum comment that we're drafting BPA. Shouldn't that be a Hickey Comment. I think Hickey scouts someone he wants and Tannebaum slashes it and picks someone else. We'll never know whose pick it was.

I believe Tannenbaum is there to oversee the staff, including the GM, and help them succeed, but it will be Hickey that will be doing the shopping list.

Tannenbaum will give him advice, and will do his part to help him get the players he wants, but if he will not override his decisions, unless those decisions just to fail, might hurt the salary cap, or seem dangerous to the chemistry of the players, coaches, or both.
