When is Bob Griese just going to go away regarding broadcasting?

I had to go many years listening to him along with Dierdorf say "Arggh, Zach Taylor" or "Durr, Jason Thomas". The point being he did it again during preseason. I didn't realize we had a Matt Henne on our team or an AJ "Eeeeds" (maybe that's how it is really spoken), but it doesn't look right ;). I swear last year one game the guy was hammered off his *** (red face, glaring into the camera all glossy eyed).
 
Think of Griese as a preseason penance you have to go through for all the sins you've committed here on FH. (Don't know your record here, but with over 5,000 posts, I'm sure you've committed at least a few. :) )

As for him being drunk, he strikes me as the type of guy who doesn't drink (which is unfortunate). I think I'd rather have him plastered in the booth, yelling at the camera crew to get more shots of the cheerleaders or openly mocking fans in the stadium. ... That would at least be entertaining.

He needs to go back to one o'clock Saturday afternoon games of Purdue vs. Northern Illinois State (or whoever). In that setting, he's fine.
 
Griese obvious is suffering from dementia and memory loss from being planted into the ground by the steel curtain and raider defenses of the seventies. He got "rappy kacked" while being sacked in those days...lots of helmet to helmet collisions. The fact that he gets about 50% of the names right at his age is cause for celebration. We should just roll our eyes and just go with the flow. Bob is a very nice guy.
 
I heard him call Chad "Matt Henne" too, and he said some other off the wall sh*t I was just shaking my head.
 
Dick Stockton is having the same problem too, mainly with opposing players. He called Falcons safety Rafael Bush "Reggie Bush".
 
Jimmy Cefalo is just as bad. He was calling Nate Ness, Nate Hess and and calling Jared Odrick ...Jason Odrick. Also Cefalo was saying touchdown Falcons when it was a touchdown for the Dolphins. The guy screws up constantly throughout the game. Everything from names to who is carrying or catching the ball to yardage gained etc.
 
I have to add that Nat Moore is just as bad or worse than anyone I've ever heard in my whole life. He doesn't even try to say the name of the player. He just says,"the weakside linebacker or the free safety." Give us the name of the player for Gods sake not the position!!! You guys are right on the money about Cafalo with his fake excitement, totally brutal. I used to like Griese as an announcer with Kieth Jackson doing college football. I'm surprised at his lack of passion regarding the Dolphins, the team he played for, won Superbowls with and ended up in the Hall Of Fame. It doesn't seem like he even likes our team. Wierd! Maybe he thinks we suck and hates our front office. Compared to the perfect season that ended with a Superbowl victory with Don Shula Coaching we do. I always liked Griese as a cerebral Q.B. who almost never made mistakes but if doing these pre-season games bores him so much don't do the gig. I'm quite sure he has plenty of money.
 
pretty sure griese pronouncing edds with a long e is correct and stockton got it wrong. they are all terrible and obviously ill-prepared though.
