"Check the schedule, this percolating team could be getting very hot, quickly."

That's a more than nice thing to say about this team.

PFT Week 9 Rankings

I really hope we beat the jets and keep this thing going. PLEASE Miami...give me something to cheer about

Leave it to ESPN to give us that kick:

The Miami Dolphins can't seem to catch a break in ESPN's NFL Power Rankings. Even while playing their best football of the season -- and sporting a two-game winning streak -- Miami can’t seem to get much respect or out of the basement.

The Dolphins (3-4) dropped two spots -- to No. 28 -- this week during their bye. That put them among the bottom-five teams in the league, which is where they have been for a majority of the season.

Before the break, Miami played impressive football. The Dolphins posted quality wins over the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams are competing for playoff spots in the AFC.

The only power poll ranking that really matters is the one that comes out after the first Sunday in February.

Last year when Dan Campbell took over and we blew two teams out before falling back down to mediocrity.

I've considered that a lot. I think this is different though. These weren't two scrub teams that we dominated. That was a pure emotional high from the players....this seems to be purely a team finally "meshing" and finding their identity.

This is real. If the Jets beat us, that means they shut Jay down, and Tanny just crapped the bed.

If our healthy line continues with it's stellar play. Jay should at least get 100 yards on the Jets beastly d-line.

There is no way Revis or any of the other Jet DB's can stop Jarvis, Stills, or DVP.

DVP needs to stop acting like Justin Hunter and start playing ball.

Drake and Grant out of the backfield is open all day if Gase calls it.

First down - MIAMI!

The Bills are ranked higher than the Fins? :bobdole:

Does not matter, Miami beats the Jets this week, and Bills lose, they can continue to put the Bills ahead of Miami, because that will mean in the real world, Miami will be officially in 2nd place and ahead of the bills.

You can only win one game at a time so while it would be nice to have the kind of team considered to be top 5 in these various power rankings, the only thing the Dolphins can control is getting to 4-4, which 3 weeks ago seemed like an impossible task.

I think we are all a little antsy as we've seen our team play much better in the last 2 games and want to see where it could potentially lead us.

It would be nice to not only get the needed W against an arch rival but to also get some style points where we beat someone convincingly.

Sunday can't get here soon enough.

These rankings used to mean a lot more to me about 15 years ago. And as for ESPN, I'd rank them at the bottom of the sports news network power rankings, so ****'m.
