When was the last time our offense was exciting?

I really think that McDaniel is going to bring an exciting innovative offense that we have not seen in decades. I can't remember the last time we weren't for the most part predicable/boring/ineffective.

Exciting on a game in/game out basis, with expectations that it wasn't just a mirage? I think we have to go back to pre JJ Marino for that.

The last time our defense was exciting was when I was in 4th grade still learning how to multiply. Then Marino retired.

We had a small tease in 2008, that was about it.

Unless you consider AJ Feeley beating New England on MNF exciting. Which I do. Always gives me a nice chuckle thinking back to that picture of AJ Feeley fist pumping, probably screaming “I WAS WORTH THAT 2ND ROUND PICK!!”

2014 the first Bill Lazor year. The scheme worked great for a year before everybody figured it out. #11 in PPG that year.

Solid case for 2016 as well. From the Pittsburgh game on the offense was doing well. Ajayi was fun to watch that year.

Even 2019, from the Jets game on when we finished 5-4. Offense was showing some signs of life. Sure Fitzpatrick was running for his life and throwing 50/50 balls deep, but it was exciting to watch!

There was a short period before everything started falling apart in 2018 that the offense looked like it was finally going to be something. Wilson, Parker, Stills, Gesicki, and Grant were a potent receiving corp and Drake and Gore formed a quality backfield. The offensive line still stunk but it looked like Wilson would help compensate for that offering a safety valve with all those quick hitters. Then along came the Pats to offer a wakeup call, Wilson gets injured, and everything collapses.

I think wildcat is #1 for me but the 2016 season was a fun one to watch too.

A real running game and Tannehill had time in the pocket-had some real dimes that season too.
