This is just my opinion, of course.

We cannot thank Pennington enough for what he has done to our proclaimed "quarterback of the future". In both games (aside from a couple errant throws), Henne looks poised and smart running the offense. He has taken the knowledge Penny has given him and soaked it up like a sponge. I certainly want Penny to finish what he started here, but just in case he gets hurt or if he's not retained next year, I have all the confidence in the world Henne can run this offense just as good as Penny, if not better.

Anyone else think this way?

what would make me fill better is if penny would stay and retire here. Stay when henne starts so if henne does not pan out or gets injured we got one the best to help. Either way i love what penny has done for us.

No doubt he is equal in physical skills but it is the intangibles that are unknown with him. Pennington is a great leader and that is something you can't teach. I love Henne and hope he is our franchise QB for years but right now, he has not had the chance to be the leader so the book is out on that.

I have really high hopes for Henne, I always have, and I think he has played pretty well this pre season. Outside of the play last night when he missed Wilford down the field, he had a real nice efficient game. The 3rd down dropped ball by Armstrong didn't help him any.
I'm looking forward to Henne in the future, but right now Pennington is the man.

I would like for Penny to stay with us too, and I think it is a strong possibility he will be content with backing up Henne in a year or so.

After all the QB hell this team has been thru this decade . . . we finally solve the puzzle and fans still aren't satisfied. Man when Pennington shows he isn't capable anymore, then put Henne in, but Chad P still looks damn good.

I totally agree with this post. We play Penny as long as he is playing at this level then when the time comes Henne will be ready. Matter of fact I believe if Henne beats Penny out as the starter Penny is man enough to accept it and be the back up. But as of right now Penny knows he is the better QB and knows Henne is getting ready to take over.

No way Penny stays here to be a backup. He might be a nice guy, but I'm sure he knows as well that he will still be a viable starter in the NFL.

agree 100%, although I would like to see more deep passes from Henne

If by week 10 or so we're some how out of it I hope Henne gets the rest of the year to prove himself. Otherwise he's not seeing the field this year in any real important situations. Next year could be a different story but we'll have to wait and see.

Chad H. may not be your nest QB.... Pat White could be the 'man.' A year from now he will be a much better QB and way more dangerous under center then CH. He will give defenses nightmares!

I agree completely. I think that when he does start, the players and coaches are going to have complete confidence in him. He has tremendous upside.

Who do you think outright hand him a starting role?
Having Chad Pennington as your quarterback is kinda like having a big girlfriend with a pretty face as your girlfriend its ok to take her out and you dont have to worry about anyone trying to take them from you
