I just did a search for all my posts over the last few weeks and the one thing I noticed is... I’ve been bashing the team!! and it made me wonder why...

When the season first started, I predicted a 10-6 season...

I vote for 10-6

Lose to:

Pitts week 1
Titans week 3
Pats week 5
Bye week 8
Jax week 13
Jets week 16
Colts week 17

PS... just kidding about losing week 8

Before the season started, I felt the Phins would play tough against the Steelers and lose it in the 4th quarter, just like they did... Then for weeks 1&2, I felt it should have been an easy victory against both teams, on paper, we’re clearly the better team, we have more talent and should have killed the lesser opponent.... At the same time, I felt the team would let down a little bit by getting caught up with the evil “over confidence” bug... Both games would be classified “an easy” victory and so the players would be playing like they were waiting for someone else to make the big play...

Because of this... I felt the Titans would kick us in the arse and win the game... I was almost right with that prediction and was a little surprised that we lost to the Bills, as I clearly felt the division rivalry against the dreaded Bills would have us motivated just enough to pull off the victory..

Here we are heading into the 4th week of the season, I had the team at 1 win and 2 losses, which is right on target for a 10-6 season... So why all the negativity? Why am I doing all the bad mouthing on this team? I really don’t know so, I really cant seem to come up with an answer...

What I do know is DC is part of the problem... Culpep was supposed to be the veteran QB that was going to take us over into the play-offs.. Sure... I know, I’ve read all the excuses in the book, he’s coming off a very serious knee injury.. his timing is off.. he’s rusty and we’re all waiting for him to comfortable with the team and team mates.. I’ve even read his quote that this team will be “awfully good” once they get the timing down... But I think it all boils down to this.. Is Saban pulling a Wanny trick by showing his stubbornness to stick with his guy come hell or high water? Personally speaking, I think DC needs more time to heal and get comfortable with the team, he needs more time with the playbook and the speed of the NFL and sitting on the bench a few more weeks, should help.. Also personally speaking, I liked what I saw from Joey and Cleo and am surprised neither of the two started the second half in both the Bills and Titans game..

Ronnie Brown is currently rated 19th on the running back list.. Does this mean he misses Ricky Williams or Morris and all this “sharing the load” crap? Does this mean our offensive line is truly offensive and is stinking up the place and that’s the real reason Ronnie hasn’t busted one or two or three... ? or does it mean Ronnie Brown really isnt that good and we’ve all been suckered into the #2 draft pick con game... I don’t know, but at the end of the game for weeks 1,2 and 3, its adding to my negativity..

Wheres Jason Taylor been? Has anyone seen him on the field? He’s been double teamed.. he’s been a linebacker.. or his role is no longer just pass rushing... So that means the other DL men need to step it up... right? The defense has only 7 sacks on opposing QB’s thru 3 games.. while giving up a whopping 15 sacks on DC... To me, I find that amazing and is only adding to the negativity...

The defensive secondary... Oh shoot, we don’t need to go there.. we all know how poorly they have been playing...

To sum it all up.. I see total negativity in every stat I read, in every game I’ve watched and every play I’ve TIVO’d... The team is definitively struggling to find its “identity” and we all know deep down in our hearts they have the ability play some pretty good football, but every time I try to find that “blind faith” so many of you have... reality smacks me in the face and says “Dude... this team sucks and you’re only fooling yourself to think otherwise”...

Being a life long Dolfan, supporting, cheering and yelling for Don Shula, Bob Griese and Dan Marino and enduring thru the JJ, Wanny and now Saban years... Will someone please shoot me and put me out of misery... cause it hurts bad to watch this team play the way they are.. even tho we all know they are better...

So you basically predicted we would be 1-2 anyway, so dont worry :)

Wait untill after week 7 to judge this team, I think by week 7 we should have some form of blocking on the O-Line and Culpepper will be more comfortable.

Week 7 may be to late, but lets just scratch out some games untill then and get better every week

Ronnie Brown doesnt have more yards because

A) We played the Steelers and he had a poor day (but did score TD's)

B) We gave up on the run vs Buffalo in the second half when he could have had a big day

What I saw from Brown last week was great, he wasnt danceing behind the line, just hitting the holes and hitting them hard

How are you...on paper or anywhere else, clearly the better team?

The Bill have better OL, RB, LB, DB, ST's, .....Our WR's are ,maybe, a little worse...our QB's are equal.

Alot of the disappoint you finfans are feeling is because you dratically overrated your team from the get go.

I have been a Dolfin fan since 1971. At this point in the season I feel this
could the second worse season in Dolphins history (we all know what the worst season was). The reason is; one the offensive line is really bad and it
may improve some but it won't ever be a good o-line at best average.
Two; Culpepper is not healthy both physically and the mental aspect of the game. I believe he will improve some but he will not be the quarterback we hoped would be THIS year. Maybe next year but not this year. I believe
at the half way point they will be 2-4 and will finish at 6-10. One thing people over looked last year was when they went on their six game win streak they had nothing to really play for in terms of play-offs.They was no pressure on them except "their jobs" but face it do you think if Saban cut most of their starters (which would be hard to do with contracts and the cap they couldn't get a job on another NFL team maybe not at the same pay scale but they would have a job, heck look at Ricky hes got a job doesn't he). This team since the Wanny years does not play well with expectations and pressure on them. I think talent and lack of mental toughness is a significant problem with this team.

Our Qbs are equal????LMAO. Sorry. I know Jills fans are known to be a little delusional, but comparing Losman to Culpepper is just ridiculous.
MArk my words, by mid season, Culpepper will be much improved, and the Jills will be once agaiun considering whether to bench Loserman.

We arent a good team right now. In 3 games, there were no signs that we are a good team. OL and secondary are a mess.

I dont think is was Dratical but we did over estimate how "Ready" the team would be early in the season. On "Paper" Bills and Fins are 1-2 and both lost their home opener to division rivals so Im not sure how you think anything about your team is "better".

Culpepper has been one of the worst QB's in the league.... the past, reputation, and the 2004 season don't mean anything now....

Mark MY words....Joey Harrington will be playing by week 7

I agree that our QB is overrated. I disagree that the Jills are a good team, they did nothing in the Dolphins game and were severely outgained in yardage. The Dolphins gave that game away with all their mistakes. Not an impressive win by the Chokealo Jills.

You really sound like someone who doesn't watch the games, but instead looks at stats and believes they tell the entire story, especially when it comes to your negativity on Ronnie Brown.

...meanwhile, your 100-year-old GM will be burning up the telegraph lines trying to swing a trade for Gale Sayers after your "superior" RB still has no TDs and your Jills are 3-4. :rolleyes2

Who was that directed to? It was after my post so I am assuming me, so I'll respond.

As for the Jill game, I did watch the game and didn't think the Jills played that well, we just played horrible and beat ourselves. That has nothing to do with the stats, although I did note that the Dolphins gained much more in terms of yardage than the Jill.

As for Brown, I have never been down on Ronnie Brown. I feel that he was a very good draft pick, that he will only get better, that he is still learning and that when he does gain more experience he will be like Ricky only bigger and stronger. When have I bashed Brown? Just because I posted in the "who misses Ricky" thread that I missed Ricky? Yeah, I do, cause he was in his prime with us and that is now wasted. Ricky, Ronnie and Morris would have been the best tandem in the league IMO.

Anyway, if your post wasn't to me that's what I think anyway.

GO PHINS~!
