That's where.

Did the people on here believe there were no consequences? I mean, really? When you spend high pick after high pick and lop off giant chunks of your salary cap on one position group you do not have those high picks and cap space to spend on other areas of the team.

You cannot build a great defense in today's NFL with late round picks and aging veterans. It's going to take multiple drafts to un**** this situation. And thats assuming we even make the effort. As our offensive line continues to struggle (:bobdole:) do try and keep the above in mind before advocating we just need another first round pick or big free agent signing to fix it.

Pretty sad and the reality is our offensive line is still below average. Pass blocking may improve but their run blocking is horrid. 1 step forward 20 steps backward for the Dolphins. I have no hope for this team right now.
 
Well to be fair we did draft some quality defensive players high and let them go like OV (kinda had to on that one $$$), Vonte Davis, Sean Smith. We swung and missed on other like Phillips, Taylor, and Will Davis. Then there was the mediocre talents of Odrick and Misi who have done nothing to substantiate their draft position. We've also broke the bank for Suh and Dansby who were the top defensive free agents at the time. So it's not that we completely ignored the defense, we just made a lot of very wrong decisions consecutively. Not unlike the offensive linemen you pictured in your post.

Improve on what? Wheres the talent? That was rhetorical, i already know where the talent is: lining up against us. Because we passed on them. To take offensive lineman. That's kind of the point.
 
I appreciate your optimism, but we sing this sad song every year at this time - and they never improve. If the talent is not there, it's not there. Williams looked average against mediocre talent. Kiko looked undersized and out of position, Maxwell was abused in limited snaps, Phillips was a ghost, the LB core was just lost in general. The starters have another 20 - 30 snaps or so against live competition and you expect some level of marked improvement?

Come back to reality buddy. It's not as nice of a place when the glass isn't half full, but at least it's filled with scotch.
 
I'm willing to wait until we put all the pieces together and play a real game before I freak out.
 
Why are you showing offense player pictures in a thread about the defense??? Makes 0 sense...
 
Well if Dion Jordan was actually worth his position....
