It's rather simple, Coach Tony Sparano explained this week: special teams and run defense.Unless you're a quarterback or a front-line starter, the guys who suit up on Sundays are all asked to contribute on special teams, and that's just not Wake's forte.
Based on Sparano's words, the Dolphins are planning on using Wake as a strongside linebacker, although there also would be nothing wrong with having him simply rush the passer.
Maybe we'll see Wake in the lineup soon. Maybe we'll see him Sunday against San Diego. Wake can only hope.

amazing we can't generate any pass rush, yet we have a potential good pass rusher inactive..go figure, we not coaches..they know better!

Potential doesn't get it done. He's inactive because he's ineffective against all facets of the game.

Too many assume Wake is such a great prospect based on his CFL success even though he is basically the same as a late draft pick

Unless he plays safety I dont care.
If his pass rush was that great he would start in front of JT.
If the weeks keep coming and JT gets worn down and there is no sign of Wake than you might as well give up.

Which is worse "potential" or lack of production. JT had no tackles or sacks against Indy.
Can't have much less of an impact than that.

JT actually makes the other team account for his presence. MIA don't even have to account for WAKE on game day. Since he is inactive and unable to unseat anyone to play. Says alot about his talent. Or lack there of.

Not really. There are only a few who think that. However, how is the guy ever going to get an opportunity to adapt to the NFL game without getting any reps? Preseason isn't enough
If he had played Monday night and ended up with no tackles and no sacks, then he would have matched JT.

Nobody on defense was productive. Porter had a sack but only because a player did not block him not because he did anything good.

Also u could have less impact u could be inactive behind Anderson and Walden

Yeah right. The Indy O-line spent so much time accounting for JT that it opened up opportunities for the other guys on defense. They were able to put relentless pressure on Manning and throw off his timing :crazy:

Too bad he doesn't have the skill set to be active. People always say this CS knows what they are doing. Well in this case a CFL stud has earned his way to the inactive list.

Taylor did nothing , Porter did nothing. Did anybody on defense really do anything?Im sure Wake who could not even make the active roster would have done no better. You might as well advocate playing Dotson over Starks while u are at it.

Seeing as Wake can't play the run and can't cover in space. And well he can't play ST. What can he do? Thats right he has exactly one skill, and that showed up when? Thats right in the CFL and alil bit against 2-3rd teamers in the PS.

Apparently, neither can any of our other LB's. Fact is, our defense looked slow on Monday night.
What is the harm in giving the guy 5-10 plays a game? I've not suggested that he start, only that they give him some reps. Some guys are better game day players than they are practice players.
Our defense, as well rested as they were, still looked like crap (except for the CB's and D-line)

That might be one more skill than JT has left these days.

Talk about a guy who is done.

I'm all for seeing Wake out there. It's worth a shot. Can't do much worse.
