All this talk about getting an offensive minded coach. Where and how does Chan Gailey fit into the category of great offensive minds? Dont get me wrong, I know he's no offensive Genius but isnt this what we all want? Someone to help put up points on the board?

Now I know that college stats are not significant of what may or may not occur in the nfl, but it seems pretty obvious that Chan Gailey is no offensive GURU. Check this out.

Keep in mind that Calvin Johnson began his college career in 2004!

Ok, so lets analyze this..

Not much to analyze is there? He gets there in 2001 and does pretty well. Much of the team was probably inherited but i could be wrong.

It seems obvious that during his 5 or 6 year stay in Georgia tech, he had absolutely no positive impact on the offense?

He did pretty well for us when he was calling plays from the booth, but look at what he has done from the sidelines.

Now let me ask you? Doesnt this make you worry? Is this an NFL championship calibar coach?

So with Chan Gailey as head coach, get ready for more Wanny-ball. Playing conservative and scared. The run, run, short dumpoff pass and punt offensive gameplans.

the offensive mind is already on our staff - if chan gets hired look for garrett to get promoted

Nope look for everything to stay the same including Mularkey as our OC.

While he seems to play it pretty close to the vest (conservative), Gailey's offense was good enough to get us 11-5 records both years he was our OC and into the playoffs both years. And that was with Fiedler as his QB. And please don't quote me the offensive rankings of only 21st and 25th, it's about winning, not rankings.

We're looking for a head coach, not an offensive coordinator. We can hire on of those. Problem is, neither Gailey nor Mora, Jr. has had any NFL success. We hired Wanny after he ruined the Bears. This is more of the same.

it's better to say nothing and let everyone think that you know nothing than to say something and remove all doubt.
