Could Tuna be lovin Ryan to coax an Atlanta trade up? I wouldn't put it past the pear shaped master.

How about Miami's 1 for Atlanta's 3, Hall, another pick and Miami takes Long(OT)?

Atlanta will not trade up for Matt Ryan. They could just do what many Fins Fans want the Dolphins to do and wait until the 2nd round and draft one of the other QBs such as Henne or Flacco.

I have to disagree...while Henne and Flacco could be very good QB's...they wouldn't bring in the fans or the dollars as would Ryan. The owner had dinner with Ryan at the combine...and the owner wants a new face for the franchise...and he wants the Vick era gone and done with.

He may want the Vick era to be over as soon as possible, and that is why he is still trying to recoup some of that signing bonus he payed to Michael, the Falcons have just as many holes to fill as we do. The owner fell for that media-hyped up QB before and paid for it in many different ways. The only way I can see them trading up, and losing a draft pick or two, for Matt Ryan is if they view him as a franchise-type QB or someone significantly better than the other QBs in this draft.

While having that big named QB is nice, start winning some games and the fans will come back and buy whatever it is you are selling.

You should also take into account the Falcons may have resigned Joey Harrington just in case Matt Ryan did not fall to them at #3.

I have to agree with fishypete on this one. Ryan is a NFL ready QB for a franchise that BADLY needs a new face. Blank loves him, Tuna knows that. I may not be cray in my assertion.

Maybe swap #1 for #3 and give us Hall I think that might do it

Atlanta wont trade with us. Even if they did Hall wouldnt be involved. We would want more picks, not a guy who dosent want to play unless the whole situation revolves around him.

Why would Atlanta trade with us? If we really want Ryan we are going to take him and therefore not trade with Atlanta. So that leaves them out of it.

If we dont want Ryan, then St. Louis isnt going to take him, so Atlanta will get Ryan at #3. They have no reason to trade up with us.

There isnt going to be any bsing them into trading by suggesting we want Ryan and then calling them up to say....."hey were gonna take Ryan". They would say...."OK. Then why are you calling us????" "Oh, because you want to trade with us....I see." "I thought you just told us you were going to take Ryan?" "But, yet youre calling us to trade the pick knowing we will take him." "I guess you really dont want him." "So go ahead and take him. I dare ya." Basically, they would call our bluff. It would be hard for us to have leverage in a trade that way.

Even if we selected Ryan and then called to try and make a trade, we dont have much leverage. It dosent help when we take the guy and then were trying to trade him away. It dosent give the other team the feeling that we really want to guy.

The Eli, Rivers thing was totally different because NY was able to take the other guy that SD wanted in Rivers and then work the deal out. We cant tell Atlanta to take our guy then work the deal out because they dont want our guy. They want Dorsey if we take Ryan. So they arent going to select the guy we might want(one of the Longs) and then HOPE a deal gets done. Plus they lose leverage that way.

NO SMOKESCREENS to be made here. Its all a ridiculous idea IMHO. No one wants to trade into that spot to pay more money for a guy they can get later.

Atlanta is sitting there at #3 and if we dont take Ryan.....they will. If we take him, they will take Dorsey. Their new coach is a defensive guy and they conviniently left a gaping hole at DT. I think they know we are taking Ryan and have made their plans to take Dorsey based on looking at their current roster. No smokescreens. Sorry.

If we are not in love with just "one" guy Ireland and Bill would jump all over trading down for a franchise corner.

ATL wouldn't only be trading with us just to get Ryan, they would be doing so to ward off other teams that maybe be willing to trade with the dolphins...

And those teams would be???

That would be awesome, but likely won't happen!

I think there is almost no chance we can trade out of the 1st pick and we have to stay at #1 and draft the highest player on our draft board! :(

First we have no idea who wants what...to think that a team wouldn't trade a second rounder to move up to get the player they want...is silly and short sighted...it's happened before..in fact the Dolphins have moved up one spot, to get a player..remember Carey. Now with the Hall trade to the Raiders...the Falcons have two second rounders. They can package their first and second rounder to move up and get Ryan...and still have a second rounder.
I'm only stronger in my resolve that the Falcons will trade with the Dolphins...they will not risk that another team that also needs a QB will move up ahead of them in a weak QB draft...not only in this draft but next years also.

do you think its possible for the Ravens to move up to #1 and if so what do the have to trade in return, if thats possible than maybe there is a trade scenerio with the falcons

The Ravens aren't afraid trade...they also see the lack of QB's in this draft and next years draft...they could easily be trading partners.

I heard Atlanta is meeting with Josh Johnson, QB from SD state, obviously for later in the draft, I hope. I hope they're not trying to find another M. Vick.:foundout:Johnson is known as a good scrambler. I think Johnson however is a better passer than Vick.
