I know there is a way you can view it but I can never remember how? Also what does it mean when some of it is gray.

Or for future reference, on the orange bar on top of the page, click the 'Forum Actions' pull-down tab. Then click 'General Settings'. Once you this page loads, click the ''Settings'' link right below the orange bar to get to your Control Panel. On this page you can view your reputation activity.
