WHere would we be....

I don't believe we ever really had a legitimate shot at Harbaugh. Just like anyone else w/ a brain, he sat down w/ Ross and listened to his pitch. But I believe it was always going to be San Fran.

That being said, this game is a perfect example of what a good HC can do. He took a Niners team that was as happless as we are, with a QB that nobody wanted, and a defense that is in line with ours. and a decent running game. We have a lot in common w/ them. With a few upgrades, we could return to the playoffs as well.

That all rests on if he had a legit QB competition and if he stuck it out with Henne or chose Moore.

If he was competant here, and actually had a true competition, then Miami might have made the playoffs with Moore. If he stuck with Henne then the same season maybe 1 more win.

Even though the reults would have been the same, we would have seen a coach playing to win. So it would have been alot more optimistic.

Ultimately it would have rested on who he chose between Moore and Henne. If we had a coach that was smart enough to start Moore from day 1 Miami most likely would have been playing Houston in the Wild Card round

If Harbaugh was coach one would think we would be in a much better position. The way he coached up the 49ers into what they are now. I didnt happen though and its a shame.

Well, he was pretty much handed that team. He got really lucky with what he inerited.

However, he cached discipline to that team, and they didn't turn the ball over.

For me, the biggest thing was his confidence in Alex Smith. If he doesn't believe in Smith that team goes nowhere

harbaugh turned a terrible team under mike singletary into a 13-3 team with basically the same players...so we would be much better off with harbaugh and probably made the playoffs...

Who cares if we wouldn't have made the playoffs this year? We sure weren't making them under Sparano's tutelage, and that became glaringly obvious less than two months into the season. We'd certainly be in a better position since we'd have a much better coach in place and wouldn't have wasted a year of everyone's life witnessing the death throes of Parcell's much-ballyhooed regime.

People are so blind.

We would still not have made the playoffs.

People are blind, and apparently you have magic powers which allow you to see into the future.

Some of you stick your head in the sand! These were Ross words after he chased Harbaugh from the Orange Bowl to Cali. Believe what you want but you don't fire up your G4 if you dont mean business!

Who is saying Ross didn't give Harbaugh that advice? If you aren't saying that, sorry you have me confused.

The thing is, the year before Harbaugh took over the 49'ers many ppl were picking them to win their division and to go pretty far into the play-offs. There was and is a lot of talent in San Fran.

You DONT know the context of the conversation that was had in which Ross said that...People just want to pile on Ross for every little thing...its getting ridiculous...
