Always had the belief that some schools are simply better at producing NFL ready products. (Tried to link the article but the page was acting funny)

Here is the quick rundown - #1 surprised me a little bit.

7) Miami (32)
6) Florida (33)
5) FSU (33)
4) Georgia (33)
3) LSU (33)
2) Alabama (36)
1) USC (38)

I figured it was The U, Florida State and USC in my top three ...I was close.

It's a dated picture but none the less it's and impressive feat by a small private university. []_[]

California is a huge talent base, and USC gets the cream of the crop for recruits. Then they can still reach out to the rest of the country and compete with anyone else for more talent. Then factor in the pro-style schemes they have run for the last decade and it's not all that surprising to find they have a lot of great athletes with skills and technique that translate to the NFL.

are you small or a powerhouse college that should be winning the national title every year?

U fans need to make your minds up

Uh, what? Those two things don't go hand in hand. Some things just shouldn't be said unless thought of before hand. On a side note, the state of Florida has 3 schools inside the top 10. I don't care where you are from, NO ONE plays football like the state of Florida. If the NFL was based off hometown players, the Fins would be the Steelers/Cowboys/9ers of the league. I love seeing elite players from my state play for ****ing Belichick. Those other schools may have a couple more players in the league than us, but if you consider quality, there is no doubt Miami is #1.

16,774 (2014) University of Miami, enrollment. In comparison: UF - 51,725, FSU - 41,477, UCF - 59,7790.

National Champions - 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, 2001

Miami has two of the longest winning streaks in NCAA Division I history. From 2000 to 2003, Miami won 34 consecutive games, tying for sixth all-time. Miami also won 29 straight games from October 27, 1990 to January 1, 1993, good for thirteenth on the all-time list.

Miami owns the record for the longest home winning streak in NCAA history, winning 58 straight games at the Orange Bowl.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes are considered by experts and historians to be one of the greatest teams in college football history. The Hurricanes scored 512 (42.6 points per game) points while yielding only 117 (9.75 points allowed per game). Miami beat opponents by an average of 32.9 points per game, the largest margin in the school's history, and set the NCAA record for largest margin of victory over consecutive ranked teams (124–7). The offense set the school scoring record, while the defense led the nation in scoring defense (fewest points allowed), pass defense, and turnover margin. Additionally, the Hurricane defense scored eight touchdowns of its own. Six players earned All-American status and six players were finalists for national awards, including Maxwell Award winner, Ken Dorsey, and Outland Trophy winner, Bryant McKinnie. Dorsey was also a Heisman finalist, finishing third.

Among the numerous stars on the 2001 Miami squad were:
Ken Dorsey
Clinton Portis
Willis McGahee
Najeh Davenport
Frank Gore
Jeremy Shockey
Andre Johnson
Kevin Beard
Bryant McKinnie
Joaquin Gonzalez
Jerome McDougle
William Joseph
Vince Wilfork
Jonathan Vilma
D.J. Williams
Ed Reed
Mike Rumph
Phillip Buchanon
Kellen Winslow II
Sean Taylor
Antrel Rolle
Vernon Carey
Rocky McIntosh.

In all, an extraordinary 17 players from the 2001 Miami football team were drafted in the first-round of the NFL Draft (5 in the 2002 NFL Draft: Buchanon, McKinnie, Reed, Rumph, and Shockey; 4 in 2003: Johnson, Joseph, McDougle, and McGahee; 6 in 2004: Carey, Taylor, Vilma, Wilfork, Williams, and Winslow; 1 in 2005: Rolle; and 1 in 2006: Kelly Jennings).

Overall, 38 members of the team would be selected in the NFL Draft. As of 2013, they had earned an astonishing 43 trips to the Pro Bowl: Ed Reed (9), Andre Johnson (7), Frank Gore (5), Vince Wilfork (5), Jeremy Shockey (4), Jonathan Vilma (3), Willis McGahee (2), Chris Myers (2), Clinton Portis (2), Antrel Rolle (2), Sean Taylor (2), Bryant McKinnie (1), and Kellen Winslow II (1). In addition, Vilma, Shockey, Wilfork, Joseph and Reed have won the Super Bowl.

Not surprised by the list at all.

I'm shocked that the poison nuts from central Ohio aren't represented but it doesn't disappoint me.

On a tangent, 2015 will start like most every other yr. theeeee osu getting curb stomped by an SEC team
