Henne looks like he is the Man. Confident, great arm, he has good size, and he is learning from Penny. I would love for him to be successful.

White, also has a live arm, killed people in college, is getting used to the pro style set, I believe he will be stud once he puts on 15lbs. He is not a Vick (more accurate) or Young (smarter and more mentally stable).

However, once Pennington retires or moves on (1 or 2 years) - someone will be the new starter and someone will be the #2 guy. If I am either Henne or White and I am not the starter, I tell my agent at that point to look for another team (Wouldn't you? Lifes to short to be a back-up). I really feel that we will not be able to keep both of these guys. So, which QB will have a great career if they leave the Dolphins? Both are studs IMO, both will be young, have great Parcells and Penny training, mind and body ready to do damage at 25/26.

dude, white cant hold henne's jock as an NFL QB. HENNE IS OUR FUTURE. white can leave after his contract and novelty have expired

nfl qbs are pocket passers and can actually grip a football. white doesnt fit the bill. hope he tears it up as a wr/rb/wildcat

I am no where near a big Pat White fan,
But I think people dont know just how good this kid can throw a football.

I hear you Melbourne but I just have a really hard time believing that someone as smart, athletic, humble, and accurate as White - can't be a stud QB in this league. Maybe it's just me.

The Bigger Picture

Chad P, can last 3 more years if, he can go with getting a major injury. Henne and white are hedge bets for the future. Money in the bank. White will be a good player in the NFL in one form or another. Thats a Fact.. and I dont have much hopes for him being a NFL QB, being a Running QB; your health doesnt last long. Guys like porter will rock your world; they live for QB beyond the line of scrimmage.
I Belive This is mostly misdirection hedge betting for the next Star comming out of college. Never know... Chad Henne could pull a don strock.. I just dont care for henne's wind up, on his thro's.. looks like he throwing a baseball sometimes. I really like White's mechanics on the way he sets his arm (high) (like chad p.) and delivers. Coach says he is Smart tho, henne.
I really belive the wild Cat is more Misdirection, their goal is hard core football, they arnt gonna do more than 20% Wild Cat. If they can run it between the tackles, they wont even use the wild cat..imo
You Know what... I AM PUMP'D -I see the Running backs putting out fires on there shoes..

I have confidence in our staff that they will find creative ways to keep White on the field. And by the way, it ain't up to White to determine where he plays. He signed a contract. He can hold out, but if you think anyone is gonna force Bill Parcells' hand on a trade, you are a fool.

Its one thing to tell your agent to get you traded, its another thing to get it done. Nobody pushes Parcells around.

the same way guys like seneca wallace, antwaan randle el, vince young, tavaris jackson, etc didnt. pocket passers rule the nfl. mike vick is one of the few exceptions

I'm a big Pat White fan. He's a great guy, and tremendously gifted. Some of the most amazing things I've seen a football field came from PW. At this point, I just don't see him becoming a starting NFL QB (not saying it can't happen) I would love it to see him become a big part of what we do on the field, because he has so much talent; and wherever he has been, victory has followed.

Melbourne: The problem with that narrow POV is that you're not considering the source of the NFL's talent. A good 75% of college teams run some version of the spread and that's only going to grow with more major programs drifting away from the lingering West Coast. Pretty soon it's going to be a massively spread league. As we were with the Pony craze, so we are with the conversion to spread offenses.

Which, btw, I think Henne is perfectly capable of handling. But his game is going to be more 3+ wide, pass to the guy in single coverage. White's going to helm the run-first part of the spread playbook.

Honestly, if something happens to where the Dolphins lose penny and Henne is the starter, Look for the Dolphins to draft another qb in the draft..guaranteed.

Dont worry. He'll remain here and be a high paid 2nd or 3rd stringer, but idont see him signing a starters contract with any team in the next 3 or 4 years.
