This might be the complete opposite of what alot of Fin fans think, but I think Palmer could potentially be the worst. He is immensely talented. We know this. But, Carson Palmer, isn't sure if he's healthy right now. He's finally starting tonight, but he has some real doubts in his head. Until those leave, I think he will struggle. Struggle in terms of a great QB, such as throwing more INTs, maybe taking a few more sacks, rather than scrambling, etc. I really think Carson should sit the first part of the season, because I really think he could reinjure himself badly. It's tough because of the expectations in Cincy, and the first 5 games are brutal.
Is it just me or am I the only one not considering Roethlisberger injured? Don't get me wrong, near death experience, facial lacerations, plastic surgery, etc. is something to be very worried about. But, in terms of football injuries, he sustained none. It's just his face. He has no demons to face. If anything he should play better, knowing every day when he wakes up that on the scary day it could have been his last. So, to me he doesn't count.
Now for my answer...haha. I'd have to take Culpepper, not because I'm biased, but because of process elimination really. I'm still not sold on Brees' arm strength. McNabb has a plethora of average WRs to throw to, along with being in one of, if not, the toughest division in football. I've already mentioned Roethlisberger and Palmer. So, that leaves Culpepper. A guy who looks confident in his rehabilitation. He's looked good in preseason against starters. He's moved around in the pocket, scrambled, and has been sacked, all the while maintaining the amazing completion % he's accustomed to and allowing his WRs/TEs/RBs to make plays.
