I'd find it interesting to read everyone's memories of their first season falling in love with the Miami Dolphins. Good and bad.

For me, it was the 1992 season. Started 6-0 and was the last undefeated team that year. Slumped and went 5-5 in the last 10 to finish 11-5 which happened to win the AFCE and give us the #2 seed just behind the Steelers. Played a scalding hot Charger team (they started 0-4 and finished 11-5 and had just shut out KC in the wildcard round) at Joe Robbie in the rain in the divisional round and pounded them 31-0. The Steelers lost to Buffalo who had just come back from a 35-3 deficit against the Oilers. We got the Bills in Miami for the AFC championship and laid an egg....29-10. We were never even in it. That's ok, though right? They would absolutely be back. Going that deep into the playoffs was a given in my mind at the time.

Of course Buffalo was crushed 52-17 in the Superbowl.

How about you guys?

The '71 Christmas Day playoff game win over KC, i was 5. I remember the SB VI loss to Dallas. Csonka was my guy. The two SB wins right after, I remember a lot more clearly. I was a full blown Dolphins fan by then. Folks used to get the Sears Wish Book Christmas catalog and I'd circled all the Dolphins stuff i wanted.

82/83ish I was 12/13 years old and Watching a night game between the Dolphins and Steelers both teams were co favorites of mine. Steelers were the bandwagon peer pressure fav whereas Dolphins were my own choosing. Anyways I felt I had to make a choice and chose the Dolphins in the matchup. Don’t even remember who won but that was the defining moment.

You would have seen two superbowl victories if you had gone the other way but you would have missed the Marino years.

I was 11 in 2002 when Ricky went for 228 in Buffalo in the snow.

96 season.. 10 years old I remember watching before but not carimg.. I remember the draft that year and when Buckley picked Jim Kelly and took it 90 yards for a td. I thought he was better than primetime after that

Christmas day 1970. Being 10 years old and being "a man" it was time for me to like a team that was not necessarily my father’s favorite. I had narrowed it down to four teams, Oakland, Kansas City, Cincinnati, & Miami. My brother sealed the deal with Miami by buying me a "Sport magazine" with a fold out full-color picture of Bob Griese behind center, on the cover. The following year they made it to the Super Bowl but lost the Dallas and I was a full-fledged fan. I spent the next year replaying that game by myself in a muddy cornfield next to my house only this time Bob Lilly would miss Bob Griese, Nick Buoniconti was consistently stopping Duane Thomas on his cutbacks, and Miami winning!:):D The next two years Miami became the first team to be in three consecutive Super Bowl's and you know… The rest... of the story! "this is Paul Harvey…Good day!"

1981 season. The strongest memories I have are the San Diego playoff loss. One of the most exciting games I've ever seen, even to this day.

Was a Dolphins fan since birth, but that Chargers loss sealed it for me. Even though they lost the effort and heart on that field that night by both teams was incredible. Walking down the stairs of the Orange Bowl I'll always remember the pain on everyone's face. Even the few Charger fans I remember seeing looked spent of all emotion. So spent they either couldn't muster the effort to be happy or didn't want to rock the boat so to speak.

I'm not sure a NFL game will ever come close to that game for me.

Many great memories in my childhood of the Dolphins.

The 1st was in 1966.....going to a game in the OB with my dad. (I was 6)

Shula coming to town and the first winning season. 10-4 ----and the playoff game against the Colts where Dick Anderson had the GREAT INT return for a TD.

The OT playoff off win against the Chiefs. The SB loss to the Cowboys.

And then the 17-0 perfect season.....Many great memories from my preteen years!!!!

I was hooked...then along came Marino.....

Time for some better memories in my Senior "hood"

If I remember right it was 1976, was at cousins house. They were all Steelers fans. I took Miami just to root against them. Have been a Dolphin fan ever since with no swaying. Have hated Pitt ever since. I was in the 6th grade and just starting to play for my local Catholic Youth team (CYO).

1990 or so. One of the best memories I can remember is Terrell Buckley with a pick 6 from like 95-100 yards out in Buffalo to seal the win. I think it was him (maybe Troy Vincent). That and the Fake Spike game. I was in a department store’s TV section when that game was on.

The worst memory was Stoyanovich missing the FG in San Diego that would’ve gotten them to the title game.
