Who are the top 5 College Football players

Since we will probably pick in the top 5 and most everybody feels that no Q.B. is worthy of a top 5 first day pick who are the top 5 players in America?
 
Something close to this (in no order): Antrel Rolle, Derrick Johnson, Erasmus James, Cedric Benson, Braylon Edwards
 
David Pollack is the best DE
 
If we were to go defense with our first pick, assuming we trade out of the #1, I would love to see us get either Erasmus James or Derrick Johnson.

So no QB in the top 5? Exactly why we should not go with a QB in the first, at least not without trading down.

Because we invested our 2nd for Feeley as the QB of the future. Brees looked horrible the previous 3 years for SD but the Bolts gave up on him after picking him #32 in 2001. We shouldn't make same mistake with Feeley when there are so many needs for this team. Don't expect franchise to wait 3 years on AJ but at least give him until the end of 2005 to show improvement.
 
In my opinion, we need to draft either a stud LT, or a qb. For the first time since I can remember, we'll have a top 3 pick guaranteed, I don't want to see us trade down, I want to see us draft a franchise player. I understand the argument for trading down to pick up more picks, but I still would rather see us pick up a franchise qb or LT. I'm still pissed that Philly has our second round pick, which is undoubtedly going to be a very good one.

Leinhart and Rogerds are most deffinaltey 1st round picks. And u could argue for a couple others as well.
 
Cant agree with you anymore. Rogers and Leinhart are both easily top ten picks in this upcoming draft and both will be franchise signal callers. I dont know what exactly your team needs are but i dont agree that your team needs any defensive help in rolle or Johhson.
 
The top 5 players are Rodgers, Leinhart, Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, and Derrick Johnson. Peterson and Bush both will not be eligible for the draft. The top 5 players who are eligible are Leinhart, Rodgers, Johnson, Mike Williams, Rolle.
 
How many chances at a really high choice have we had in years. It is imperative that we do something very smart here. If we could land one of Buffalos' running backs, probably Henry, then we don't have to go after Benson. If Feeley looks sharp the rest of the way then maybe we put something together to land Orlavsky and the top LT in the draft. We need another Q.B. if for no other reason depth ala the Giants with Warner and Manning. We have great corners so Rolle isn't high up there as far as need. I love Devon Hestor from the Canes, he's awesome in the mold of Deion Sanders.
