I came across this on PFT. Did not see it posted here.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano singled out DT Anthony Toribio and CB Scropio Babers as players who are exceeding expectations.

Toribio is a DT from Carson-Newman College, and a native of the Miami area. He and Babers, who played at Sam Houston St. I believe, and is a cb who did not play his last year there due to academics, were given tryouts and made it. So they were not even among the first undrafted free agents the Dolphins signed. Toribio was a much sought after guy, including catching the eye of New England. He is about 6-2, 310, or in that ballpark. Babers is said to have blazing speed, (4.3 range).

Thanks for the info man. I hope they make the squad.:hi5:

Out of the two, Toribio probably has the best chance to make the final 53 man roster. Not much depth on the D-Line, especially NT, so he has a chance to stick.

Your probably right about that. Hey Nubs, what's good with one of your Ricky and Ronnie highlight vids? Let me know how i can get my hands on one those...

That's great! Two positions of major need. An injury to Ferguson or Allen, etc..and we're seriously screwed. I hope they can develop and surprise this year.

I think that these undrafted free agents and "unknowns" are the most interesting part of training camp. Gotta love a guy named "Scorpio".

I don't understand how all the camp reports claim Scropio Babers keeps getting beat, up and down the field, but Sparano is praising him?

Maybe they are exceeding expectations, because they are UFAs, so they were really low to begin with. Either way you have to love an underdog.

You are right and the fact that we are real thin in this area doesn't hurt!
From what I've been hearing, Will Billingsley is even faster than Scorpio and a little more developed in his skills. I heard that he ran a 4.33 for us on wet grass.

I think you may be right. At the rookie minicamp Sparano said that they purposely threw more at Henne than he could handle to see how he reacted. Maybe they're doing the same thing with these guys.
