If the draft was today there should be little to no arguement that Glen Dorsey will be the first overall pick by the Dolphins. Yes, in the upcoming months you will hear the Dolphins talking up McFadden in hopes of scaring someone into a trade. So basically an upgrade at DT is on its way barring a combine freak.

Anyways a couple weeks ago I read an article (Sun Sentinel I believe) that said the Detriot Lions where dangling Roy Williams to see what people where willing to offer. In the article it said that the Lions are hoping for a second round pick (which most likely is an assumption by the writer). But I say if there is an ounce of truth to the article we offer our second we got for Chambers. Roy Williams (when healthy) is the real deal he is tall, fast, and strong. He can go over the middle and make the big third down catch or go down the field one on one and out jump the defender. Roy Williams is better playmaker than Chambers. He would be the best widereciever south florida has seen in 2 decades.

Another free agent I think Miami must target is Marcus Trufant. He finally developed into a probowler this year. He has the instincts and quickness to cause turnovers from the corner position. Something we havent seen since Sam Madison and Pat Surtain where intercepting 8-10 pass each year.

Feel free to comment on my two free agent wants/needs. Plus who else would you guys like to target this offseason?

roy williams would be awesome. awesome. he is much better than chambers. we'd probably have to give up our first 2 and maybe a fourth or something like that. trufant is a great CB that id love. if we dont take dorsey we probably will look at corey williams DT GB.

Asumonga from the Raiders, Trufant, Samuels. need a shut down corner.
I still think Chambers would have been huge for us, IF he had someone to throw the ball.
can we get him back for the same second rounder? haha

beef up the oline & dline.

It all depends on what defense that they install with the new DC. If they go back to a 4-3 (not likely) then Dorsey would be a perfect fit and will be the #1 pick. If they stick with the 3-4 (I'm guessing so), then there is no way he will be drafted by Miami. He's too small to be a 3-4 nose tackle and does not have the speed to be a 3-4 end.

That's the key.

Woohoo! First post back! Alrighty!

Kindal Moorehead, Ken Hamlin, Jason Peterman (plays guard) Corey Williams or Sapaugo from the 49ers.

Anthony Becht from TB at Te.

I think all team fans need to relax on FA IMO.

The Bills site is the same way.

But alot of teams are good money wise, so some of these top FAs will either get tagged (with a garentee that after so long they can not get tagged in 09) ala Clements, Samuals and Briggs. Or they will get resigned before FA even happens.

I just do not think alot of these TGTs hit the market this year.

The team to look at is the Skins, they are 20 mil or something already over the cap, so they will be cutting players as well.

Trufant, Dansby, Hamlin, Johnson(Cinci). I expect to pick up at least one of those guys maybe 2 if we are lucky, maybe a TE as well. Perhaps Pollard or Eric Johnson.

Sign Asante Samuels.. hurt your enemy, better yourself.

We will be a 3-4 next year, so I expect to see some more midlevel, semi-unknown players from the front sevens of Pittsburgh and Dallas. Tomlin may continue to slowly faze in his cover 2, possibly freeing up personnel. Dallas is about to be cleaned out: coaches as well some transitional players Parcells might poach.

As for the draft: my #1 wish is the same for 2008 as it was for 2007 - Brian Brohm. We still do not have a franchise quarterback (sorry, Beck). And we could have him after trading down with someone who wants (and could use, we can't) McFadden/Dorsey.

i would love trufant in miami but it is reported that he wants to stay in seattle...
i would also like samuels but i think he is too expensive because there will be a bidding war...
but imo hamlin is a good safety and we should take a look at him..btw roy williams would be awesome ;)

Dansby, Asomugha (I think Trufant will likely stay in his hometown), Bryant Johnson (if cheap), LJ Smith, Floyd Womack, Flozell Adams, and Corey Williams are on my short list.

I think I'd rather have Drayton Florence than see them throw a king's ransom to guys like Samuel or Trufant.
