Hello dolfans,

Now we know our FO want 4 premium picks to contribute immediatly, so, who could be in that case at 9 ?

1/quinn if he falls, no brainner take him !

2 levi brown :LT is a need position and brown is the 2eme best LT prospect in many player power ranking but he seems take snap off and in the NFL it's a big problem, perhaps a rech at 9 but not sure !

3/ DT branch or okoye : could contribute immediatly but with traylorn hollidays, wright brothers, evans and vickerson we seems fine at youngter DL ?

4/CB : another need position : Leon Hall or Revis : they could contribute immediatly but seems a rech at 9 too

5/WR : ted ginn, I don't know why but I feel the bust here , I would not take the risk and you ?

my bet : quinn if he falls or a try to trade down and accumulate more picks .

sounds right, i think there will be some postition players in the top tier still left when we draft so i dont see us trading down unless it it to good to pass up.

I think we shouldn't be sitting stilll in this draft and I'm starting to believe Mueller feels the same way(rumors and such).

9 is a terrible spot for us. At 9, there's going to be deep talent but all on the defense side of the ball. Branch, Anderson, Okoye, Hall, and Landry are all blue-chip prospects with major upside. But how does it make sense to continue to upgrade the one part of our team that was already stellar on top of already adding a stud via FA?

If I were Mueller, I would be more than willing to trade down cheap if need be. Ofcourse, you hold out for as much as you can get, but at the end of the day you take the best deal available even if it's not what you hoped for, add extra picks to your draft, and put yourself in a postion to draft value at a position of dire need- pretty much anywhere on offense with the exception of RB.

Or, you can go the other way. The way I'd prefer because it shows guts- move up for the guy you need, want, and love. Calvin Johnson? Brady Quinn? Joe Thomas? Love em all, need em all, want em all.

QB: Russell or Quinn
WR: C. Johnson
DE: G. Adams, Anderon, or Carriker
DT: Okoye or Branch
S: Landry
OT: Thomas

Since y'all are not in the market for a RB, Peterson is not listed

None of those 10 are reaches at #9 IMO

so , I understand you think like me, that the best situation is trade down to accumulate pick and solve many problem on days 1 and pick in second day BPA on all round.

I would sooner take Peterson rather than let him drop to the Bills. There are 3 or 4 teams that might want to move up to take him so I hope we can work that angle if Quinn isn't there (unless Thomas, CJ fall)

I would draft Laron Landry because IMO he's the most obvious BPA. I would draft him and move Jason Allen to corner. If we don't take Landry, I would trade down and draft Greg Olsen or Levi Brown. Theres no reason why we should reach for an offensive player just because the offense needs more help.

Couldn't he play safety next to Jason Allen? I don't see why not...

I agree. If Peterson where to fall to us, which IMO is very unlikely, and no team under us is willing to trade up for him, I'd take Peterson in a heartbeat.

Some team will eventually be ringing our phone off the hook for Peterson and if not, the Dolphins just volted themselves into the possible top 5 RB tandums of 2007. And we won't have to stress about Ricky Williams anymore(will he, won' he? Will they, won't they?)

I'm 99.9% certain though that if Peterson does fall to 9, there will be a plethora of teams dialing the Phin's war room.

I definately see us trading down and it gives us some much needes extra picks too so imo it wouldnt be a bad tradeoff. Would definately hold out for the best possible compensation for our #9 ( which should be pretty nice ) I love the possibily of picking up Landry though as well... so all in all I wouldnt be upset with either picking him up or trading down. Trading down just seems like the more realistic scenario so far though

I'm fine with trading down. But some other team has to be willing to trade up and give us fair compensation. I believe Jimmy Johnson came up with a chart years ago for determining fair value when exchanging a high pick for lower picks and visa versa.

I'm curious to see who falls to us at No#9. It seems ever year a really good player slips further than he should. It would be hard to pass up Branch or Landry if they should slip to #9.

Then there's the "trade up and get the player you love" approach, which isn't a bad idea. I don't think Quinn will slip to #9. But if he slips to #6, maybe we can trade up with Washington?...We can probably afford to trade up to #6, but trading up to the top 3 or 4 picks may be too expensive. It's a tough decision. I'd love to get Quinn, but how much would we have to give up to get him?

I originally thought Levi Brown would be too much of a reach at #9. But I was reading PFW draft preview, and Levi Brown was ranked #9 in the best available players (regardless of position) chart. I would rather see a higher ranked player fall to us. But if we saty at #9 and the "blue chip" players are gone, Brown may not be a bad choice. We need OL help and Brown has a lot of upside.
