Raiders | Team split on who to take in NFL Draft?

Phil Barber, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/32">Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports there is speculation the Oakland Raiders are torn on who to select with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. The scouting department reportedly likes Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson, head coach Lane Kiffin and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp like Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn and team owner Al Davis wants Louisiana State QB JaMarcus Russell.

It seems right now no team will have any idea who they will draft until the
Raiders make their decision Saturday. This might turn out to be the most interesting draft in a long time. I am definitely looking forward to it. I just wonder when Trent Green is coming to Miami. Nobody will pay his salary this year so it's inevitable. Just depends on how much of a jerk Peterson is going to be about it. If he doesn't act before the draft he will get nothing for Green, so I expect something to happen between now and Saturday. Any thoughts?
 
The Green trade will get done. It may take a second day pick from this year and a late conditional pick from next year's draft.
 
We have waited this long i think we should just wait until Green gets released and pick him up for free. We shouldn't give Carl anything for him because we don't have to. He had his chance to get something now we should just laugh at him.

i think they will sign him on friday, like the texans did last year with mario williams

I agree. It's ridiculous he is trying to compare the Green trade to the Welker trade. Welker has 5-8 good years left in his tank, whereas Green might have 2 years. The only reason we want Green is to teach whoever we pick up in the draft this year, who incidentally just might be our starter next year.
