The top players remaining on the board when we pick are...

La'el Collins
Kevin Johnson
Breshad Perriman
Randy Gregory
Shane Ray
Eric Kendricks
Landon Collins
Melvin Gordon
DJ Humphries

Unfortunately, I feel this is how the chips are going to fall tomorrow night. I personally hope we can find a partner to trade down in this scenario.

If I'm forced to pick at 14 in this situation, I'm taking CB Kevin Johnson. Fills a major need, can play zone and man.

La'el Collins was very close to being the pick. (Shooting death of Ex GF is weird timing)

Kevin Johnson....pretty easy choice out of that group

i would take kendricks if it looked that way...i think they would take kevin johnson

I like Kendricks but at 14? You can get a top tier LB (Perryman, Dawson, Anthony, McKinney) in the second round.

I trade down and still get Kendricks

Best player in that list imo? Humphries.
Biggest need? Johnson/Kendricks
Boom/bust potential? Perriman/Ray
Bad fits? Collins/Collins/Gregory

And Gordon. I don't think he'll be elite, but he'll be a good RB and a system fit.

Overall, I'd probably go Johnson, but I don't believe he'll ever be elite. He'll be solid and competitive. Humphries will be elite, imo. The fact that so many people have come out mitigating Perriman's drops has me interested, but they sound like "happy adjusters" as a certain poster would say (34 times a day).

Here's a question - would you take Landon Collins and convert him to a Mike or at least a hybrid for dime/sub-packages? 6' 230lbs is a workable size. All his best work is downhill. A thought.....

Gordon is the best player, but corner is a dire posistion of need. So Johnson would probably be the best pick.

Kevin Johnson may be the best CB in this draft, Peters would get that honor but too many issues and risk.
