I am just trying to get a feel of what everyone on here is thinking about the up-coming draft.

Who do you want us to draft?

Personally, I really want to trade down and acquire more picks. We are not 1 player away we are a lot of players away from being good. By trading down we would also avoid the huge challange of signing the #1 draft pick.

If we can not trade down, I would be in favor of drafting Jake Long or Chris Long. Jake Long could significantly up-grade our O-line in both the running and passing areas. As far as Chris Long, He has a non-stop motor and could be a force for us either as a LB or a DE and could play a position in either our 3-4 set or 4-3 set.

i want us to take gholston , C. Long or trade down. ....... btw i agree with your user name 110000%

Personally I'm a little Bias but I want Gholston. The guy is like Ware and Merriman (without the roids)

Guy is a monster. Probably the most talented defensive player in the draft.

I would like us to trade down too but I don't think there is that one player that is a hands down first pick that a team will give up multiple picks for. I hope some team falls in love with a player so we can get some picks like san diego got for eli manning.

I am surprized about all this Gholston talk. I have not heard any rumors or even seen any draft projections with us getting him. I can't really say whether I agree or disagree with picking him because I have not really seen him play; I know he playes DE but do you think he would play OLB for us in the 3-4 too?

I have seen draft projections with him in the 5-10 pick range though so we may take him if we trade down a bit.

i want defense for our first 2 picks. either long or dorsey and a shutdown corner.

Over the next two months, if we keep bringing Gholston's name up in every message board we post it or in every e-mail we write to media people or even in conversations with friends and relatives...as long as we spread the word his stock will rise. That's just the way it is in the NFL.

So, the solution I propose is to please curb your enthusiasm (yes that's a 180º turn). If we do so, then Gholston can still be had further down the draft at a fraction of the cost, which means Jeff Ireland (under the guidance of Parcells) will have more cap room to bring more talented players on this team to entertain us on a Sunday afternoon. Don't get me wrong, I love this guy too, but think bigger picture.

If we cant trade out of the number one pick, I would love to see Glenn Dorsey here especially if we play the 3-4 we need a dominant DT, and he could fill that void with Traylor most likely retireing.
