I for one, love having Ricky on our team...it gives a chance to keep Ronnie fresh and adds a good change up for defenses. If we develop this running back duo, it could be great...not only do I hope we dont trade Ricky, but here a re a few reasons why I think we wont.

- Everyone knows Ricky isnt gonna stick around for long, everyones aware of his feelings on life and its clear football isnt what he lives for. Teams around the league will be hesitant to take him because of this, and thus we wont get serious offers that would interest us.

-Ricky himself doesnt want to move. The guy only wants to be back for a while, on a team where he is not the featured runner. My guess is he is loving sharing the load with Ronnie as the main guy. Ricky wouldnt want to move to another city and become someones featured back.

-We are in great cap position next year, and Ricky is no TO. He is not going to give us a hard time about the money, thats not what he lives his life for, he will be happy making a little more then what he makes now, and we can definetely afford that.

In short, I believe we will, and I hope that we keep Ricky. The guy is a stand up act that doesnt make mistakes, doesnt get flags, and runs hard regardless of the situation. Not only that, but I really hope that this Saban regime doesnt deal him away for nothing, and he ends up benefiting some other team.

I want Ricky with us for a couple of more years. He needs to gain a little weight in my opinion, as I've never seen him smacked down by a DB the way he was today.

I think we should definately keep Ricky around. He doesnt seem to want a huge contract, and he still shows flashes from time to time. It's obvious he still isnt in the physical form he used to be, but that can be fixed.

IMO theres no shame in being jacked up by Asante Samuel, he makes hits like those every week.

Trade em'....Maybe we can pick up a decent player, doubtful though

As long as Ricky insists on remaining this "new" RB instead of the old RB that rushed for 1800 yards and Saban and Linehan make Ronnie the primary RB that gets 25+ carrys then yes trade him or use him as a backup.. But if they keep this R&R thing going then there won't be any consistancy in the offense

I would keep him but only as a backup with maybe 5 to 7 carries a game. We have to start giving ronnie the full carries. We have to start getting him in a groove for the game. I don't think this constant in and out with ricky and ronnie is helping the team. Neither one is in the game enough to start getting into a groove for the game. I think if you give ronnie most of the carries he can start getting into a flow.

It depends on what we could get for him. If we could recoup a 1st & 3rd or 1st & 4th then I'd do it. It would give us the extra couple picks to help our secondary, oline, & find a capable back up to Ronnie.

Ronnie Brown is too good to keep a guy around as a backup that could possibly give you good value on the trade market.

If kept at a low salary as a backup top preserve Ronnie then great. How long will he want to play part time? I feel he will want to make his cash in a shorter time and get out. But I'm less worried about keeping him now that we are really less dependent on him. Ronnie can fill any void left by Ricky now, with Morris as a backup. I still hope we trade him and get something good out of it. And I still wish him the best with his new team, especially if it's in teh NFC, and not a rival.

No kidding. Ricky has made very good contributions and has shown guts catching passes in the open field, running and recovering others fumbles. I am much more pro Ricky than in week 5 when no one was sure what Ricky would show up. He has done his part for sure. Further, backs go down and you do not know how great it is until you need him. Don't Trade Please.

If trading Ricky means improving the team, we should consider it. If we can move up in the draft and get a top notch player that will be on the team for years, it is imperative that we do it.

exactly, Ricky has shown more guts catching the balls then our recievers! people are always doubting his devotion to th egame, yet he gets no props when he makes diving catches in the middle of the field, while our beloved 'elite' recievers are dropping balls between the numbers.

I think Ricky has lost a step....not sure if it would make much sense keeping him around if he is only going to get 11 carries for 13 yards. :shakeno:

Trade Ricky and Chambers to Minnesota for Culpepper. I think they would take that trade bc they need a back and they are doing better without Culpepper. Just think of what Culpepper Did before under Linehan.
